Wonderful Program
Before settling on the 4-H Center for our daughter's summer camp we had the chance to take a tour. We were very impressed. The bunkrooms were spotless. Although I can only imagine what will happen when the kids move in! They have a full program that is sure to keep the kids busy and challenged throughout their stay. We were also very impressed with all the counselors. A very friendly and helpful staff. I only wish I could go to camp again!... Read More...

Boot camp Specifics: Advanced horsemanship with an emphasis in ground skills training, barrels, poles, jumping, trails, and obstacle competitions. Camp Details: Campers will learn about our everyday ranch life, experiencing what it's like to care for and tend to horses on a daily basis. They will work with our herd every day. Horseback Riding is a huge part of every day's activities. Campers learn Western and Huntseat Disciplines as well as horse health/hoof care, tack care & equine science. Advanced riders become a part of drill team exercises and are challenged to consistently improve their skills. Daily activities for children who are in the two-year-old program are based upon projects and units of study. A balanced schedule provides experiences in group and individual settings and includes stories, music, language experiences, natural discovery, and inquisitive discussions. Classrooms are arranged into centers that include age-appropriate educational toys, materials, and games based upon the interests of the children. These include centers for books, blocks, sensory materials, art, puzzles and manipulatives, math, science, and dramatic play. Children have the opportunity to work and play in these centers individually, with a friend, or in small groups. Choosing centers provides practice in making decisions, following directions, working independently, and learning about the care and use of materials. Outside time offers opportunities for gross motor development (including climbing, running, jumping, pedaling, and building), social interactions, as well as a chance to experience weather and seasons.
