This cooking camp is a fun and exciting way to spend summer. There will be two sessions: Session 1- June 22nd - July 3rd and Session 2 - July 6th - July 17th. Cooking Camp will be held at The Silver Spring International Middle School on Wayne Avenue from Monday through Friday, 9.30am - 1.30 pm. All students from grades 4-9 are welcome to register and enjoy this memorable experience. In these 2 week sessions, students will get started with the basics of cooking and gradually increase to more advanced skills. Students will learn the art of decorating foods as well as how to bake, stir-fry, marinate, set a formal place for dining and much more. instructor is Mrs Denise Moore who has been a FACS Teacher at SSIMS from 2001 to present 301-807-9132

Lil Dribblers - Campers will learn the fundamentals of basketball in a safe and fun environment. No flexible drop off or pick up. Breakfast and lunch NOT provided. You may choose to pay your camp in full or make a $10 non-refundable deposit per week. Your credit card will automatically be charged one week prior to each session. Refund Information In order to receive a refund, a request must be called in to 645-7000 10 business days prior to camp session and followed up with an email or explanatory letter before the refund will be processed. Refunds requested between five and 10 business days prior to camp session will receive a 50 percent refund; and requests received less than five business days prior to camp session will not receive a refund. Refunds take 6-8 weeks to process. A $15 processing fee will be assessed for each refund request. Note: $10 deposit will not be refunded. Film Makers Challenge Workshop - S1 - Plymouth Community Arts Council
For students with previous film making experience. Take your film making to the next level with a series of fun challenges that will stretch your imagination. On site props and indoor/outdoor settings offer students a chance to show their stuff and work together in pairs, in teams, and as individuals to come up with creative solutions to the days challenge. PCAC Film Crew Instructor Jenn Teed and production assistants will start off each day with a technique demo and then guide film makers as they come up with unique digital films. Students should bring their own film recording device with memory card or cord to transfer film to instructors ipad. Contact if you will need equipment to use during workshop. This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.The Arroyo Seco Adventure Camp offers opportunities to learn about our local, natural resources in a fun and exciting way. Now in its third year, this innovative camp pairs environmental education with traditional camp activities. Based in Brookside Park with regular activities in the lower Arroyo, this is an outdoor camp. The first week of camp focuses on origins of the Arroyo Seco and the geological events that created this amazing space. Other weeks focus on plants of the Arroyo, local animals and myths, protecting and exploring nature and survival skills. Conservation specialisits lead daily nature walks and instruct on conservation of environmental resources, native plants and local wildlife. Other activities include casting pond fly-fishing, archery, horseback riding, hiking, environmental education lessons, swimming, art and group games. Campers go on a weekly environmental themed field trip. In previous years, trips included kayaking, nature centers and local farms. Staff ratio is 1 to 10. Minecraft™ has taken the world by storm with its block-building, digital game design that allows players to build, explore, create, collaborate, and even survive. With no set rules, you can build anything you can possibly imagine. During this 4-day adventure, campers will learn different modes of playing. They will use cool mods as they escape monsters, build amazing structures, create maps, mine the world under their feet, climb the tallest mountains, and utilize robotic turtles to manipulate the vast world around them. They will learn real coding techniques to program their turtles to accomplish tasks while working as a team with other campers to unleash their creativity!
