Free Summer Horse Day Camp for Kids, Week 8 of 9 - Lacomb, OR
This is not your typical day camp! Kids learn how to get big jobs done and earn big rewards through our framework of barn, garden, and community activities. Our mixture of work, learning, and play develops character, leadership, and real-world skills. Kids start the morning cleaning stalls and doing other jobs, then have a well-supervised fellowship lunch, then ride or do other horse activities in the afternoon. For the kids that are interested in doing other things doing the horsemanship time, we have interesting building or maintenance projects as well as gardening. Sometimes we have someone come share an aspect of their career, or we will go on a field trip to a business, and sometimes we need to go pick up hay or other donations as part of the camp day. Toward the end of the day as parents arrive, we usually do a short devotion that gives kids the chance to tell how they illustrated a positive characteristic that day. Parents and kids should attend a 90-minute tour and orientation prior to enrolling, you just call us and schedule a time. The Honcho Summer Campout - Proctor, WV
An idea that has been burning in our brains for a few years will finally spill into the steep, hilly forests of West Virginia this August. Save the date, we'll be taking over the insane Roseland Resort for a weekend bonanza of pool parties, camp fires, club ragers and weirdo sunrise woodland excursions together. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR NOW: - Roseland has a 20 year tradition of being a clothing optional, men-only resort. We must respect the rules of the space and adhere to this for the 2015 edition. We will work towards a larger idea in the future. - We have held ALL of the cabins and best tent camp sites on the resort property in a discounted Honcho block. You will get 10% off all lodging. Choose any five weeks for your child to attend. Additional weeks may be added later by contacting the Director at the established rate. Weeks CANNOT be added at the rate difference between each available session program. For example, if you register for three weeks and then decide to add two additional weeks, the cost WILL NOT be the difference between the three week program and the five week program.
