The Explorers Day Camp offers five weeks of old-fashioned summertime fun, designed to develop campers curiosity and creativity through weekly theme-oriented sessions. Each week, Explorers will participate amazing activities designed by GFSs own LS art teacher Heather Chu Marvill and ASP Art Coordinator, Joli Harnish. In addition, campers will enjoy science, cooking, nature, and sports-related activities. The GFS campus will serve as the primary location for exploration and skill-building. Half-day field trips to nearby cultural destinations provide opportunities for hands-on learning and discovery. Campers will build confidence, forge new friendships, and grow through new experiences, all within a safe and fun-focused environment. Swims at the Germantown Cricket Club during weeks #1, #2, and #3 will add to the summertime fun and plans are in the works to include swimming for weeks #4 and #5 as well! Explorers Day Camp themes for 2016 will be Mad Science, Time Travel in Germantown, Under the Sea, Animal Planet, and The Olympics: Ready, Set, Rio! I have a daughter who is 9 and a son who is 11. They both enjoy this 4-H camp because of the friendships they have formed along with the skills they have learned. 40 Years of Camp Goddard - Reunion (SouthMac) - Sulphur, OK
This is a TENTATIVE event page to see who would be interested in heading to Goddard Youth Camp for a weekend in June 2016. Please invite everyone that you know who has attended "Camp Goddard" through South MacArthur Church of Christ to like this event and the Facebook page. This Reunion will be open to all ages and families are encouraged to come together! There is enough cabin space for 210 people. Cabin spaces will be available in groups of 10 on a first come, first served basis. Restrictions: Older couples or those with major medical issues will be given cabin preference if they would prefer not to sleep in tents/RV's. Camping with tents/RV's will be a slightly cheaper option than cabins because we may be expecting more than 210 people. Kinderfari PM Session - KF4 "Bugs" - Henry Vilas Zoo
Kinderfari camps are 1/2 day, week-long adventures for our youngest zoo campers (K-1st grade)! Afternoon camps run Monday-Friday from 1:30-4pm, with free after care offered from 4-5pm. Limit 16 campers per session. "Bugs": What makes a bug a bug? How are they useful? What kinds can you find in your own backyard? Girls Field Hockey - Brookwood School
Fall 2016 will be here before we know it and Field Hockey Tune-Up gives the foundation to be ready for the season. Skill development, fitness training, and teamwork are hallmarks of this established program. Basic skills, stick handling, rules, and field positions are taught through drills and game play. Rigorous conditioning, "eating to play," and strategies for rest and recovery are all part of the program; athletes learn to prepare not just for a single season, but for a life of physical activity. Coach Mike Wellington teaches physical education at Brookwood School. He serves as a U.S.A. Field Hockey Level II Certified Northeast Region coach and coaches U16 Premier Field Hockey for Seacoast United. As the Assistant Athletic Director and a beloved varsity field hockey coach for over twenty years, he has helped players from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade Eight find their physical strengths and talents.
