Shooting Basics is the first of 3 programs under the Shooting Fundamentals Series. Designed to help athletes develop or improve their shooting form. Shooting Basics will teach players correct footwork, body positioning and ball placement as they execute shots from various positions on the court. Step in shots, shots off the dribble and off the catch will be the concentration in this program. Players will also work on range shooting and free throw positioning and routine. Each player will build the muscle memory to consistently shoot with control and confidence. Once players complete this program they will be able to enroll in the second program under the Shooting Fundamentals Block - Shot Breakdown. Program consists of 6 - 1 hour sessions. Join us on Sunday, July 10th for a special one-hour Boot Camp Fitness Class to support New York Road Runners' (NYRR) Youth Programs, which serve over 200,000 students annually with free running and fitness experiences. During this special Boot Camp Fitness Class hosted by Michelle Stiglitz, you will sweat your way through a series of various exercise all to support a good cause. The class will be held outdoors in Clove Lakes park. We will meet promptly at 9:00am on the Martling Avenue Bridge (near the Staten Island Zoo parking lot) Please bring a mat or towel and a bottle of water. *All fitness levels are welcome to participate! Basketball Week 8 - Knott Hall
Playing in a state-of-the-art field house, with four basketball courts, basketball camp at Loyola is designed to improve the fundamental offensive and defensive skills of each player in a fun, yet competitive setting. The camp is geared to improve the skills of the beginning player and the more advanced player. There are four basic goals of the camp: 1. Each camper has an enjoyable experience 2. Each camper loves the game more by the end of the week 3. Each camper improves his/her skills 4. Each camper learns how to continue that improvement after the camp. During the camp day, campers will participate in station sessions with work on fundamentals, 2 camp contests, 2 games, a shooting session, and 1 film or pool session. Loyolas varsity head coach, Josh Davalli, leads these camps. He was an all league player in the Baltimore Catholic League and played Division I basketball at Towson University.
