Survival of the fittest! Come explore how plants and insects survive in a world dominated by humans. Bring an observant eye and ear as we investigate unique interactions between living organisms. Dissect a grasshopper and flower, test how ants respond to stimuli, create an insect soundscape, and more! The hands-on explorations, inquiry-based activities, and modeling will leave students buzzing with excitement! Please note that this program is an updated version of Insectology from last summer. Elgin Academys Musical Theater Camp combines all the components of a professional performance in a fun camp atmosphere! Camp will begin with auditions to help determine the campers current developmental and comfort levels in performance. All participants will be assigned a role to perform for a final presentation. Additionally, students will work together with staff to help create sets, costume pieces and props. Participants and their families are asked to make a commitment to regular attendance, as absences significantly impact the groups preparation. At the end of the week, they will present their product to the rest of the camp and parents, demonstrating how everyone can think of ways to make our planet a better place.
