The Hawks Haven Nest provides our youngest campers with the same quality and diverse program found in our Primary Camp. Campers participate in fun, active, enriching activities that are developmentally appropriate. While these children will not participate in off-campus field trips, we will bring special events and activities to campus just for them! A typical day will include both individual and small group activities with an emphasis on: • Developing social skills • Providing cognitive challenges • Learning to cooperate and function successfully in a group • Exploring • Building self-confidence • Learning to make choices • Developing a love of learning • Character Development • Creative Thinking Every day will include indoor activities writing, painting, cutting, and puzzles and outdoor activities like water fun and great games. Both give your child a chance to develop gross and fine motor skills and include free choice as well as instructor-led activities. Youth Ski Trip 2016 - Freedom, NH
Youth Ski Trip: for our 7th-12th grade students from Friday February 26th to Sunday February 28th we will be at Camp Calumet in West Ossipee, New Hampshire for a wonderful and blessed weekend of skiing and being in fellowship with one another. Make sure to sign up and get your forms located on the Sunday School Bulletin Board. Make sure to come to the meeting on February 7th before church at 8:30am to fill out paperwork, go over the weekend and to make payments. Friends are welcome! Cost is $130.00 per person this year and if you are in need of rentals or lessons, it will be an additional $24.00 each. Please make sure to attend our Brunch Fundraiser on February 7th after church to raise funds for travel and for our chaperones.
Film Premiere Stages for Youth Summer Film Camp - Cincinnati, OH
***PLEASE NOTE VENUE CHANGE*** Join Stages For Youth in celebrating the accomplishments of 30 young filmmakers who attended the 2016 Stages For Youth summer film bootcamp. Participants, ages 12 to 19, from SCPA, Springer, Clark, Walnut, Bethany House, Seven Hills, Mercy, Purcell, Waldorf, Aiken, Withrow, as well as home educated, YWCA Rosie’s Girls and The Squash Academy came to Stages For Youth and were challenged...to make a short film…in only 2 weeks! Along the way they learned the film craft, they created, collaborated, debated, negotiated, and problem solved…and all came away with mission accomplished, a testament to their creativity, resolve, teamwork, and spirit. Movies will start around 8:30 PM in beautiful Union Hall. Total run time is about one hour and will be followed by awards. We have a hundred chairs and then some, so please bring your friends. This is a free, public, family event and all are welcome!
2016 Teen Winter Camp - Oxford, AL
We'll be traveling from ODBC to Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford, Alabama, for our retreat, and we will spend a day snow tubing on Friday at Stone Mountain, Georgia! Come for great preaching and a fun time connecting with other teens and the Lord! Space is limited on the bus, so register early! Cost is only $75 which covers travel, lodging, and snow tubing (bring additional money for one meal each day while we are traveling). Parents/guardians must sign a hold harmless agreement and provide emergency contact/medical information.
Teen Bander Training Camp (ages 14-18) - Hilton, NY
This camp is open to students aged 14-18 who are interested in learning the basic techniques of passerine bird banding, and in examining the scientific reasons for tracking birds of all kinds. Students should have a demonstrated interest in birds to apply; see the Braddock Bay Bird Observatory website for details. This event is sponsored by Braddock Bay Bird Observatory as part of its education program.

Does your childs room need a makeover? This camp allows children to create beautiful pieces that add glam to their room! Each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind creation as campers get to combine many different artistic mediums. They learn canvas painting by completing a monogrammed painted canvas ready to hang. They learn the art of mosaics by creating their own message board. They learn pottery painting and glazing techniques by creating their very own tissue box cover. This trip is reserved only for our senior high campers. The joy of skimming across Adirondack Lakes in kayaks is one to be remembered for a lifetime. Your route will take you north from Long Lake through the Adirondacks most wild and beautiful canoe area. Your group will travel along the Raquette River, into Stony Creek Ponds, and finally into Upper Saranac where a special Island waits for our campers alone. Paddling lakes and rivers, cooking under the stars, and enjoying the company of new and old friends will have you wishing that the trip were longer. 518-631-6789

Brings your young epicureans enthusiasm for all things cooking back to the source of the ingredients: land, soil, seeds, animals, plants and more. Campers will explore how to grow and cook a farm-fresh meal from the ground up using ingredients that are in season and locally grown in the Napa Valley. After getting their hands dirty learning how animals, soil, water and the sun work together to produce food for our tables, kids will wash up and commence cooking. Nothing tastes better than a meal that is freshly harvested out of the ground. Each week, a local chef will visit to share knowledge about farm-to-table cooking.
