Learn to Babysit Exploration - Carolina Day School
Every successful babysitter has a few tricks up their sleeve to keep kids happy, healthy, and most of all entertained! Campers will complete an interactive notebook filled with kid friendly snacks, learning activities by age group, engaging games, and more. We also cover topics child care professionals need to know such as how to build a resume, interviewing with potential families, how to find child care jobs, caring for children with special needs, and being a professional. Fencing Camp: Foil, Sabre And Epee - McLean Community Center
No previous training needed. Often called ?the physical game of chess? and ?the noble sport?, fencing requires mental strength and quickness, and improves coordination, balance, speed and grace. Campers use the Foil (a light training sword) and are introduced to Sabre (the modern equivalent of the cavalry sword) and Epee (the modern equivalent of the dueling sword). Safety tipped swords, protective jackets, masks, and gloves make fencing one of the safest sports. Fencing camp taught by the Virginia Academy of Fencing Equipment rental fee: $49, make check payable to VAF. Wk 7 • Teen Screenprint - Kala Gallery and Classroom
Take a deep dive into becoming a screenprint expert using the professional equipment that Kalas studio has to offer. We will start with the basics of cutting stencils for DIY printing and then move into more complex methods including multi-layered, repeat pattern, and photography-based images. Print on paper, fabric, shirts, and other clothing. Whether you are interested in drawing, hand-lettering, digital media, photography or graphic design, this is the class for you! Instructor Bio: Claire Kessler-Bradner is a second-generation San Francisco printmaker. Growing up in the culture of the print shop, she developed a love of process and problem-solving, materials, equipment and tools, and the collaborative camaraderie of making together. Her work in printmaking, painting, drawing, book arts, and sculpture addresses the narrative intersection of place and memory. After earning her MFA at California College of the Arts, Claire returned to teaching fine art at the middle and high school level. She has been an artist in residence at Kala since 2010, and her work in book arts is carried by Seager Gray Gallery in Mill Valley. 510-841-7000 x203
