Teen Writing Matters: A Summer Writing Camp July 18-22 - Grass Valley,
One Session ONLY! Monday – Friday, 1 to 4PM Class limit 20, minimum 8 Students need to bring paper and pens Minimum age: 13 $200 members, $225 non members Will we sing campfire songs? No. Will we write similes about the smell of a campfire, or lengthy descriptions of that one camp counselor who wears knee socks and a fanny pack? Perhaps. Join Kirsten Casey for five days of writing delight: creating poetry, characters, flash fiction pieces, and more. We will write everyday from 1-4 using a variety of prompts, strengthening our attention to detail, sharing our work, and eating candy. Kirsten Casey is a local California Poet in the Schools, who has been teaching creative writing to students in the area for over ten years. She earned her Masters in Creative Writing from San Francisco State, and you can find her work in the anthology Yuba Flows, and her own book of poetry, Ex Vivo: Out of the Living Body. As a teen, Kirsten kept a daily journal, wrote poetry and a play, and enjoyed quoting song lyrics. Summer Prospect Camp - U-M Soccer Complex
The Prospect Camp is designed for those wishing to learn more about playing at the collegiate level. This camp will provide the serious soccer player with the understanding of what it will take for success at the collegiate level. Coaching staff is made up of current University of Michigan Soccer staff and are assisted by current members of the team. A number of other local/regional/national college coaches will also assist as a coach or will be in attendance to watch and evaluate talent. As part of this camp we also offer a presentation from Coach Daley and the Admissions Department here at The University of Michigan. This presentation will undoubtedly provide useful and resourceful information on the college admissions process, the daily lifestyle of a student-athlete and college financial aid. 734-647-1201

Hitting/Base-Running Camp Team Registration - Pine Bluff, AR (Taylor Field)
PRO-DAY Baseball Hitting/Base-Running Camp will be held on Saturday, February 20th at Historical Taylor Field. The Camp will be held from 9 am - 12 noon for ages 8-15 years of age. Incase of inclement weather, the clinic will be moved into the Indoor Facility at the Stadium. Participants will get to hear instruction on proper hitting techniques and to help improve ones swing from a staff that has been involved in professional baseball on all levels. Since 1989, PRO-DAY Baseball has been teaching young players the finer points of the game, have sent hundreds of players into professional baseball, along with hundreds and hundreds of others have went on to receive baseball scholarships to colleges/universities across the country. Players need to register in advance, the camp is "Limited". Proceeds will benefit the John Gross Memorial Scholarship, which is given to a high school senior each year that plans to go off to college to play baseball and continue their education. 888-224-6150

Engineering - Build It! - Middle School
This course is being offered in conjunction with the Webb Institute in Glen Cove: a private engineering college that offers a dual major in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Students work individually or in teams to design and build a boat that serves a specific mission. Each team is given a list of materials and then must collaborate on the design and construction of their boat. Student volunteers from Webb will assist the teams in applying engineering and physics to enhance the design of their projects. The week culminates with a field trip to the Webb Institute, where students get to test their construction skills under various conditions, tour their amazing facility, and visit the Robinson Model Basin to put their designs to the test by completing numerous challenges. Ballet/Pre-Tap - Bolles Ponte Vedra Beach Campus
Does your child love to jump, hop, stretch and spin? Dance class promotes teamwork and self-discipline through a variety of props mixed with creative and traditional dance. Students who continue with lessons throughout the school year are eligible to participate in a formal recital at the Times Union Center in May. *Additional fees apply for this event.
