SummerART Camp Full Day Studio Art Program 9:30am to 5pm Studio Art with Sketching Studio Session II: July 11 to July 22 Studio Art Camp Matisse and Friends: Colors of the Modern Masters Purple skies, pink trees, red rooms, and green people! Its all about color and imagination this session, which will explore artwork by famous Modern and Post Modern masters like Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin and Pablo Picasso. These artists experimented with depicting the world using fantastic colors, and a bold and expressive style of brushwork. We will experience color in a whole new way while working in fine art materials, found objects, collage, printmaking, and more! Campers will be inspired to create their own wild and wonderful masterpieces. Actually, our daughter is the one who reminded us of that and it was just one of the wonderful lessons she brought home from her time at Park River. Girls Field Hockey - Brookwood School
Fall 2016 will be here before we know it and Field Hockey Tune-Up gives the foundation to be ready for the season. Skill development, fitness training, and teamwork are hallmarks of this established program. Basic skills, stick handling, rules, and field positions are taught through drills and game play. Rigorous conditioning, "eating to play," and strategies for rest and recovery are all part of the program; athletes learn to prepare not just for a single season, but for a life of physical activity. Coach Mike Wellington teaches physical education at Brookwood School. He serves as a U.S.A. Field Hockey Level II Certified Northeast Region coach and coaches U16 Premier Field Hockey for Seacoast United. As the Assistant Athletic Director and a beloved varsity field hockey coach for over twenty years, he has helped players from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade Eight find their physical strengths and talents. The ocean is full of action, adventure, and discovery. Take a new journey into the marine environment each day by foot, kayak, or SUP. Learn about bait balls, action packed salt ponds and benthic communities by pulling up animal traps and collecting bottom samples. Thrash on waves using boogie boards, go on a kayak excursion, and help choose our snorkel sites. Pick a new travel destination with your class, and decide the route to take us to our destination. Includes: kayaking, boogie boarding, snorkel adventures, playing in the salt pond and the ocean. 860-535-9362
