Through daily exposure to textile media, campers explore new avenues of creativity, improve their dexterity, and make new friends while learning about historical and contemporary use of the fiber arts. In addition to structured class and craft time there is daily free play and outdoor time, weather permitting. Campers aged 11-12 visit TAC daily, for project-based classes inspired by their weekly field trip to a current textile related exhibition in New York. In The Handwork Studios Fiber Arts Camp, campers spend their time sharing stories and laughs while stitching snuggly creatures, and crafting handy dandy accessories. Our goal is to teach the fun practical skills of knitting, hand and machine sewing, needle felting and much more in a space where campers will be enveloped in learning, creativity, imagination, and giggles! Every week, join us for a different array of amazing crafts, whether building on old skills or learning brand new ones. All materials and supplies are included, no experience necessary.
