Our kids have been going to the local Boys and Girls club for the past year but this was the first time they ventured out for summer camp. I'm so glad they did. Mobile Game Design-Gayton Baptist - Gayton Baptist Church
Theres no faster or easier way to develop games for your mobile device than with Construct 2 software. We will teach campers how to use its visual, drag & drop interface and complex behavior library, which provides almost limitless freedom to game designers. Campers can bring their mobile game ideas to life in no time at all with no coding!th-3 Test your game utilizing the previewer and then get ready to publish to all supported targets, including iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle, Nook, Windows 8, and Mac desktop. Campers will be provided with a laptop to construct their games. They will have an opportunity to save those games and add them to their devices on Friday at camp, or at home if they wish. This program is for children ages 6 to 12 and runs Mon through Fri from 8am to 5pm. Camp locations: Wigwam Creek Middle School & LP Rec. Center. This camp includes arts/crafts, sports, games, daily swimming & movies. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will be provided. Discounts are available for families enrolling multiple children. The first week of camp which you register for, the FULL camp payment is due at the time of registration. All other weeks which you register, a $20.00 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a space in that week of camp. The remaining camp fee is due 7 days prior to the start date of week in which you are registered. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Price shown is for one child only. Our popular 6 day/5 night traditional camp experience in our main camp. Campers will participate in a variety of camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, high ropes, rappelling, and zip line among other things. They will also camp out one night at our "Out Post" Camp next to our creek where they will sleep in hammocks! 662-234-3350
On Stage: Footlight Camp - Matilda - Takoma Park Community Center
In On Stage: Footlights, everyone shines! Our camp is designed to allow students the opportunity to dive into performance and design/construction aspects of theatre by working on an abridged production. This year, students will perform 2-3 musical numbers from the Broadway hit, Matilda , based on Roald Dahls beloved book. All songs will be performed as a group, and everyone will get a chance to be Matilda! Well start each day with physical, vocal, imagination & focus building warm-ups. Heres what well be doing: * creating & developing characters * learning music/songs * blocking/choreographing musical numbers * playing drama games * getting to know the theatre space and theatre terminology * set design and construction * working with props and costumes Our goal is to have every student on stage, every student engaged in the creative process, every student proud of their work. Fridays camp hours are extended to 3pm because Footlights students will join the Spotlight campers for final rehearsals and performance on Friday, July 15!
