Instructor: Pamela Howett () Room: D-5 In this engaging class students will draw favorite undersea animals, including dolphins, sea stars, clownfish and more while learning fundamentals of art. Our fun projects are geared towards developing drawing skills within each class, as well as encouraging individual creativity and expression. While many of the projects are guided, each student works with his or her own vision and produces a unique finished piece. This class helps children develop cognitive skills, motor skills, social skills, and both verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Awesome Camp for Girls
I went to CJDA every summer growing up, and now my girls attend every summer. I love it because they’re learning how to interact with other girls. With all of the back-biting and bullying you hear about in schools nowadays, I believe that CJDA works to counteract that. Girls at this camp learn to love and appreciate other girls. ABOUT: Our featured speaker for this weekend will be Greg Gunter, Youth Pastor at Covenant Baptist Church in Romney, WV. Greg has a heart for young people and making sure they understand the Word of God in a practical way. This weekend, our theme is FOUNDATIONAL. All buildings are built upon a foundation. The foundation determines how well the structure will stand. You'll be challenged this weekend to look at what your life is built upon and what is the real foundation in your life. RETREAT COSTS: Register for the retreat on or before October 14 and the price is $59.00. The price for the retreat increases to $64.00 on registrations that come in after October 14. So, register soon! Scholarships are also available for this retreat upon request.

Girls Design 3rd, 4th & 5th Graders, Tuesdays, 3:00-4:00 pm, $125 February 2, 9, 23, March 1, 8, 15 Taught by Steve Harberger Girls only Explore the process of design and making. Make concept drawings and refine our sketches as we develop our ideas Create music and play games with controllers we design using Makeymakey Hands on, turning wooden tops on the lathes. Who knows? We may even make some talking sock puppets. What is more fun than bringing your own ideas to life and sharing them with your friends? Yoga helps the student find balance at any age, calming the mind and relaxing the body. This class helps bring active minds into union with active bodies in a non-competitive environment. Kids will learn new poses in a fun and playful way that stretches and strengthens their imaginations as well as their bodies. Mats are provided. Previous yoga experience is not required.
