We will empower tweens/teens through journaling, breathing practices, meditation, aerial yoga and mat yoga. We'll have fun and learn to trust others and ourselves through partner yoga poses. Though drop in students are welcome, we encourage participants to enroll in the the entire four week program because each week we will build upon the lessons of the previous week. Camp runs 5-6:15pm on Tuesday, July 19 and 26th, August 9 and 16. Please note there is a break the week of August 2. A minimum of 4 students is required to run the program, so please register early! 43 Hoops Peak Performance Basketball Camp PM ONLY - Carver Community Gym
AFTERNOON SESSION ONLY (12:45pm - 3:30pm) Camps are co-ed, 4th - 8th grades (based on the 2016-17 school year). This all day camp is designed for the serious basketball player who wants to make a school or travel team, move up a level on a travel team, or firm up their spot on an existing team. This camp is designed to prepare you for tryouts by giving you the skills and confidence to perform at your highest level. Each day a peak performance discussion topic will be covered to give the campers the insights they need to stay healthy, focused, and confident. Topics will include nutrition, conditioning and stretching, as well as tips on how to deal with the mental side of competitive basketball. Scrimmages will be used daily so that participants can utilize the skills theyve learned. These camps will be conducted by the professional training staff of the 43 Hoops Basketball Academy. Player to trainer ratio will be 8:1 or less. Young carpenters will enjoy a safe way to practice woodworking as they design and build a different project each week. Under the direction of lifelong woodworker and GFS teacher Edmund Livingstone, campers will work individually and collaboratively to plan, measure, cut, build and decorate their projects using wood, paper, nails, rubber bands, and imagination! Their finished products will be works of wonder and awe. Students will incorporate measuring, drilling holes, and strategically positioning their nails in each unique project. They then will customize their creations with arts and crafts. Safety and proper use of protective eyewear will be stressed at all times. This is a great beginning woodworking class for students to learn to use tools and, more importantly, to develop a lifelong love of working with their hands! Woodworking is a morning-only camp and participants may wish to stay for either Ceramics, Mandarin II -Golden Dragons Camp, or the Explorers Day Camp during the afternoon session.
