This camp is overflowing with creative uses for everyday objects. We will make instruments, art, and gadgets from seemingly useless items. Straws arent just for drinking, balloons arent just for parties, and old cardboard has more uses than you can imagine. We will be thinking outside the box and learning some fun science along the way in this trash to treasure adventure. CODING Through the use of Code Studio and Scratch students will examine the connections between elements of mathematics and computer science in a fun and engaging environment. This camp we take them from intermediate to high level advanced in terms of basketball IQ and skills taught. These camps help us identify special talents or future Camp Right Ways and International Middle School Combine (IMSC). Age 7-9, Session 02 - LMSS - A
These 1 or 2 week sessions provide first time sailors aged 7-10 with the basics of sailing in a fun, safe and encouraging environment. Sailors will be using Prams, which are ideal for 2-3 sailors in 1 boat. Students will be taught the points of sail, basics of sailing upwind, downwind and between 2 points, along with sail trim, knot tying and general seamanship. Basketball Girls 4th - 9th - SCDS
You dont need to travel out of town for a first-rate basketball camp! Experience a FUNdamental basketball camp on our own SCDS campus! The Camp will be Directed by our Head Girls Basketball Coach Bobbi Mock. Coach Mock brings 19 years of coaching experience to this camp and is excited about helping your child develop better basketball skills. This revamped camp has extended hours to ensure development of proper form and fundamentals, including shooting form, footwork, timing the shot, lay¬ups, jump shots, etc. Time will also be devoted to game situations and scrimmages. Emphasis will be placed on the skills needed for basketball success! Coaches from around GA will be guest speakers at camp, including Toby Wagoner from GSU and Fala Blalock from Armstrong, among others. Camp will utilize three SCDS gyms (Demere, Saunders, Old Gym).
