For rising 7th grade SAA-SDS students only The transition from 6th to 7th grade demands a student be responsible, accountable, independent, and organized. With this session, the student will gain insight of what to expect as he/she moves into Junior High at SAA-SDS. Knowledge of navigating through Haiku, as well as understanding the expectations of each 7th grade teacher, will be presented during this session. Teen Power Camp Begins Tuesday, 1 December! :) - Apollo Beach, FL
It's here! The Fall edition of our Teen Power Camp provides a fundamental fitness foundation for any high school student, scaled to anyone from first timers just trying to get into shape to high school athletes looking for structured off-season training or additional in-season work. The Teen Power Program will introduce athletes to bodyweight exercises, gymnastics, powerlifting and basic olympic weightlifting, all while under the close supervision of a certified CrossFit instructor. Our goal is to teach local Teens how to safely and efficiently move their body and external objects (bars, kettlebells, medicine balls, etc) through space, dramatically improving body composition and improving athletic ability in anyone. Our program is designed to increase stamina, strength, power, endurance, coordination, balance, accuracy and flexibility in any person, all while in a team environment filled with positive people. Every workout is scaled to ANY teens capacity. Teens must be at least 13 years of age and emotionally mature. Cost is $119 per month for children of Apogee members and $139 for children of non-Apogee members Class runs 330-430pm every Tuesday and Thursday. Interested? Sign up for both camps and only pay $1000.00 instead of $1100.00. Kids will have fun learning the fundamentals of basketball as well as learn off the court life-skills. Activities include drills, full-court scrimmages, an All-Star game, skills challenge, three-point contest, free throw contest, and even a slam dunk contest! Each camper will receive a participation award, jersey, water bottle and lunch. The goal of the camp is to provide a fun and safe environment for your child to learn and enjoy. Sports Camp week 6- Lacrosse - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of lacrosse camp, children will focus on the fundamental skills necessary to excel in the sport of lacrosse including cradling, passing, shooting and defense. Agility and hand eye coordination will also be emphasized. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship The third hour of lacrosse camp will focus on learning the rules of the game (rules for boys and girls will be explained separately) and playing modified games of lacrosse. As the skills of each child advances over the course of the week, the third hour will consist of more realistic game like situations. Equipment will be provided. New This Year! Instructor: Elmore Hey, kids! Lets put on a show! Students will be involved in all aspects of staging a musical from learning the songs and choreography to constructing props, sets and costumes.
