Where Will My Child Sleep at Summer Camp?
Different camps have different types of accommodations. Some groups have kids sleeping in well-ventilated cabins whereas others have air-conditioned dorm rooms. Bathrooms could be in cabin or in a nearby wash house. There are also programs that have youth sleeping in tents outside. An organization’s mission often dictates the sleeping arrangements. For example, a 4-H or Girl Scout group may want campers to be outdoors to learn important survival skills whereas an academic camp may want youth inside so they can focus on their work.

A few days to BE A KID AGAIN! Join us while we have a great week of fun and fellowship. WoodmenLife members and their spouses, ages 55 and up. Camp fee is ONLY $35 Trust me, these aren't "just old folks", we have a blast and do almost all the same activities the youth campers do! New for 2016 we have added a day trip to Millstone Creek Orchards in Ramseur, Thursday October 6th. Bus fair is sponsored by the Bessemer City Chapter 1286, and tickets are covered in your registration fee. Don’t forget to bring YOUR secret award winning dessert for our Home Cookin’ Cook Off. The winner will receive a prize from WoodmenLife. Bring your silent auction items, as we will be holding a benefit for the camp. Also we will participate in another food drive for our National Community Focus, FIGHT HUNGER! Items will be donated to a local shelter. Ages: Girls and Boys 28 – 36 months old Dates: June 13 - August 5 Half Day: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Full Day: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Format: Eight one-week sessions designed around themes; campers are encouraged to sign up for multiple weeks. Location: Laurels Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights Tuition: Half-day: $210/session: Full-day: $350/session Description: All aboard! Its time to ride Laurels Gator Train! This year Gator Train campers will learn about the world through stories, songs, science and crafts. Film Makers Challenge Workshop - S1 - Plymouth Community Arts Council
For students with previous film making experience. Take your film making to the next level with a series of fun challenges that will stretch your imagination. On site props and indoor/outdoor settings offer students a chance to show their stuff and work together in pairs, in teams, and as individuals to come up with creative solutions to the days challenge. PCAC Film Crew Instructor Jenn Teed and production assistants will start off each day with a technique demo and then guide film makers as they come up with unique digital films. Students should bring their own film recording device with memory card or cord to transfer film to instructors ipad. Contact if you will need equipment to use during workshop.
