LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Sports Camp week 4- Soccer - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of soccer camp, children will focus on the basic skills of soccer such as dribbling, passing, shooting and goal tending , as well as agility and foot-eye coordination. Goal tending will only be taught to those children who volunteer for this position. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. The third hour of soccer camp will be spent discussing the various rules of soccer such as hand ball, pushing and tripping, and playing modified games of soccer. As the skills of each child advance over the course of the week, the third hour will consist of more realistic game-like situations. Equipment will be provided. New T his Year! Friday Field Tri ps! Visit www.maskansascity.org to register! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: WHEN IS THE CAMP? The camp will, Insha'Allah, be from Friday, August 12th - Sunday, August 14th. WHERE WILL THE CAMP TAKE PLACE? Rock Springs 4-H Center in Junction City, KS. It is about 2 - 2.5 hours away from Kansas City. Transportation will be provided, Insha'Allah. (Please see details below.) WHO MAY ATTEND THE CAMP? Young youth boys and girls ages 10-18 only. WHAT IS THE COST TO ATTEND THE CAMP? The cost is $120 per child by July 20th midnight. After July 20th, the cost will go up to $140/per child. Registration space is limited! WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER? For the early registration discount, the deadline to register is by Friday, July 20th. After July 20th, the prices will go up to $140. Registration will close @ 11:59 on July 31st or earlier if seats are filled. WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED FOR THE CAMP? Yes, we will have two departing locations: one from ISGKC and the other from ICK. In the registration form is where one can specify where they would like to depart from. For our 2017 youth camping trip we will be going to Tyler tx , we will have two or three shelters to stay in. This year's theme will be Deep waters , and deeply rooted. There will be different rules this year and alot more fun , God is preparing something amazing for us this year. I'll have the packs ready to go by the beginning of February. Volunteers are welcome please inform me by May 10th if you wish to help out. All donations are welcome at anytime , or come to one of our fundraiser to pitch in. We will need prayers so please be in prayer about the youth and what God has in store for us!!
