Restaurant Camp I is not a pre-requisite to attending Restaurant Camp II. Open and operate your very own restaurant in Kitchen Kids popular Restaurant Camp! Calling all budding chefs, entrepreneurs, and restaurant enthusiasts! Chefs will tour the kitchen and front of house of a local restaurant, and immerse themselves in every step of the process: choose the concept and name, design the decor, create a menu and logo, learn restaurant jobs and etiquette, create, cook, and serve their signature dishes to friends and family. Throughout the week kids will also prepare delicious recipes and safely learn kitchen fundamentals, palate development, and culinary techniques. Day camp sessions run Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with transportation provided to and from First Presbyterian Church. Check in at First Presbyterian Church begins at 8:30 am. Home School Day: Take it Apart - The Mini Maker
During this session the kids are given safety instruction for every day use of basic hand tools such as screw drivers. Your kids work in groups to take apart every day household items that the kids are familiar with. This includes non-operational power tools, computers, home printers, alarm clocks, DVD players, ect. This session is designed for the kids to understand the concept that every day items are built and there are components, big or small inside of them. Jr. Brick Robotics - Our Saviors Lutheran School
Campers get a head start on simple robotics using LEGO® WeDo™ components and easy to use software. Our young creators will build models, attach sensors, and motors that are plugged into a computer, and configure behaviors using a simple programming tool. Counselors guide campers through their first 12 robot models, which include a variety of animals, soccer players, amazing mechanisms, and adventure stories. If ready, campers than move to advanced building and programming projects that include: a Racecar, Ferris wheel, and Carousel. As the week draws to a close, campers can utilize the skills they have learned to build and program their own creations.
