LATEST CAMPS NEWS: The Great Race with LEGO® Bricks - Bethel Christian Center
Weve got a week to design motorized vehicles with LEGO® components that will take us around the globe in record time. Our projects and destinations include: •A speedy train to travel across the USA •An ultralight plane to fly from New York to Paris •A dunebuggy to race from Paris to Moscow •A dogsled to travel across eastern Russia •A sailboat to cross the Pacific and get to the finish line Students build motor-driven vehicles with LEGO® components, customize their projects and run them on missions. Our class keeps an eye on how our virtual race opponents are doing, and answers questions together at the end of each leg to gain extra mileage or place roadblocks to slow down the competition. This is a fun way to develop new building skills. Students learn how different vehicles work, how the size and placement of gears affect their projects power and speed, how pulley belts are used to transfer motion, how to make a trailer for vehicles, how wheels and axles work, and other science and engineering concepts. What If a Child Can’t Swim?
Parents do not have to worry if their children cannot swim. There are many safety precautions in place to protect youth. For example, qualified lifeguards certified in CPR and First Aid are always on duty to make sure that children are safe when swimming. Additionally, the summer program will assess all kids’ swimming abilities. There are instructors on site that can help interested youth improve their swimming skills or learn to swim.

Time to shake off the winter and say hello to the spring! Fugitive Spring Camp is the perfect opportunity for all ages and experience to learn to run, jump, climb, vault, roll, swing, flip and more from the most experienced staff in Dallas. Fugitive campers will be exposed to tips, drills, and games that build strength, mobility, coordination, teamwork, and leadership while reinforcing good technique in all the major methods of movement. A series of 4 in-depth workshops all about fun types of movement provide campers with the best parkour training possible at the first and only parkour facility in DFW! They will improve their skills in the controlled environment of The Asylum, and then test their ability with games and challenges all under the guidance of our certified staff.
