Session 2 Resident - 2016 ASTA/NJ Chamber Music Institute - Rehearsal Hall
The ASTA/NJ Chamber Music Institute at Rutgers University Neil L. Aaronson and Margaret Zufall-Roberts, directors Session I: July 24-29, 2016 Session II: July 31 – August 5, 2016 Ages 12 to 23| commuter and residential options available | performance sample video required for placement purposes only Now in its 12th year, the American String Teachers Association of New Jersey (ASTA/NJ) Chamber Music Institute provides participants with the opportunity to perform in small ensembles under the guidance of top teaching artists. Students participate in daily rehearsals, master classes, elective courses, special presentations, and a variety of social activities. Each session features a concert and master class with a professional visiting artist ensemble and concludes with a performance featuring student ensembles. ASTA/NJ CMI is open for participation to students playing to string instruments, woodwinds, classical guitar and piano. All students registering for the ASTA/NJ Chamber Music Institute at Rutgers University must also complete the Participant Questionnaire (/). In this short 6 week class students will be able to learn what directors are looking for in the audition process. Students will have group vocal training as well as be given a song to work on for a solo audition, students will learn acting tips, and learn simple choreography. The Players Camp is a five-day, overnight program designed to give the higher-level junior player an opportunity to develop their game in preparation for high-school/collegiate/tournament golf. Learning sessions will include technical instruction in all parts of the game, course management and mapping, mental training, fitness education, nutrition habits, significant on-course playing time and college recruitment information. Each camper will receive one-on-one instruction with the Stanford Coaching Staff and other DI Coaches and Current Collegiate Players; space is limited for this camp.
