Using improvisation and short scenes, students will learn how to make strong character choices and work with objectives and relationships in this creative acting class. Afternoon Only (1:00 - 4:00 pm) Behind the Curtains of OZ - This week we will be building the yellow brick road to OZ along with light and sound design! The campers will also learn the basics in doing hair and makeup. All campers will be a part of the Wizard of Oz production running the weekend of July 1-2. Summer Camp Music Festival - Minnesota Members - Chillicothe, IL
The first Summer Camp Music Festival was held in 2001 at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL. About 1,000 attended the festival that year, and enjoyed over 20 bands on 2 stages over the course of 2 days. Since then, Summer Camp Music Festival has grown to more than 15,000 attendees, hosting more than 100 bands on 7 stages over 3 days. And while our numbers have grown, Summer Camp still maintains the same energy and family feel we had when we started over a decade ago. As one fan put it, “Coming to Summer Camp is like coming home.” You’ll run into old friends, meet a ton of great new ones, and have the time of your life. Almost tripling the population of Chillicothe for the weekend, Summer Camp creates a city within a city, and greatly impacts the local business economy. Artists that have performed at the Summer Camp Music Festival in past years include: moe., Umphrey’s McGee, The Flaming Lips, Willie Nelson, Bassnectar, Widespread Panic, Les Claypool, Keller Williams, Pretty Lights, Skrillex, The Roots, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Medeski Martin & Wood, and many, many more.

Session I For rising JK-4th grade students Dont miss your Road to Rio! It starts at our incredibly fun and challenging camp. Introduce your All-American Girl or Iron Man to the spirit of gymnastics! All-American Girl instruction will focus on vault, bars, balance beam, floor exercise and mini-trampoline. We will encourage the "grace" behind the sport and will incorporate turns, leaps, jumps and elements of the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics along with tumbling and mini-trampoline. In our "Iron Men" tumbling program, the boys will be grouped by age and introduced to the basics of tumbling acrobatics such as rolls, cartwheels, handstands, handsprings, jumps and safety falls, in addition to mini trampoline fundamentals. For the older boys we offer acro-slam activities such as dunking balls by jumping off the mini-tramp. To round out this program, we will encourage the girls and boys to challenge their strength, flexibility, & coordination through fun, age appropriate gymnastics, challenges, and activities.
