Coasters Grades 2-3 - Community Cycling Center Bike Shop
From exploring new neighborhoods to spanning distances they didnt know they could ride, Coasters experience the empowerment of a week on two wheels. Riders build confidence in this camp by tackling many different riding situations both within parks and on the road. They also gain experience riding both up and downhill in conjunction with proper shifting techniques for those with geared bikes. Its not all hard work though – Coasters will take breaks from their bicycles by playing games in local parks. Its a packed week of fun! Please note: Coasters camp will ride on streets. To participate, riders must be able to consistently start and stop unassisted and ride in a straight line. Skills they will develop: • Proper execution of emergency and anticipated stops • Avoiding hazards • Shoulder check and scanning for cars • Identifying types of intersections and crossing safely • Controlling speed riding down a hill • Signaling and communicating with other road users • Tube patching 503-288-8864 x321

Spring Break Hardware Hacking - LMHQ
Come get a taste of hardware hacking and electronics in our 3-day spring break Arduino & Electronics Workshop. Were very excited to introduce students to working with microprocessors, sensors, motors, and other amazing tools. By the end of this course, students will know how to build basic circuits connected to their Arduinos, and will be able to write code to control their hardware using the Arduino IDE. This is a great option for students wanting to get a taste of code, hardware, and electrical engineering over their spring break! Students will get their own Arudino kits (which they can keep at the end of the course) and will work in small groups to build and explore the world of Arduino sensors and actuators. Beach Volleyball Camp - Moonlight Beach
Beach volleyball legend, Sinjin Smith, plus his qualified staff of local San Diego area coaches, are ready to pass down years of knowledge to you! Throughout the summer, Sinjin will drop by periodically to work with campers. The camp is structured so that all campers will receive proper instruction based upon their individual skill levels. This camp will cover all of the fundamentals, teach specialized drills and supervised games will be played. Everyone will receive a Beach Volleyball camp T-shirt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Campers should apply sun screen prior to camp. Please bring water,some snacks and comfortable clothing to wear at camp. Beach volleyball camps will be using portable netting sytems located near snack shop. Tech Explorers: Robotics and iPad® Stop-Motion Movies - Bethel Christian Center
Students explore robotics using LEGO® components and then use iPad®s and special effects apps to make a stop-motion movie. In the morning, campers build machines with LEGO® elements and then program and use them to uncover clues to solve a mystery. Theyll use motors to power projects and sensors to detect movement and trigger actions. Programming is easy with LEGO® WeDo® software - students drag and drop blocks on the screen to create the instructions to run their machines. Each student has their own kit and computer to use. Projects include building an airplane controlled through a keyboard, building a sensor-activated sliding door, making an amusement park ride controlled with a tilt sensor, and more. In the afternoon, students work in teams to create a stop-motion movie starring LEGO® minifigures and sets that they create using LEGO® components. Students record the movie frame-by-frame on an iPads®, add exciting titles, visual and sound effects, and background music in the Pinnacle Studio editing app! Teams choose the story and characters - it can be a comedy, or an adventure starring Scooby-Do®, a favorite superhero, animals, or Minecraft® characters. 206-466-6882
