New Mexico is one of the best places on earth to see volcanic rock formations and many types of rocks. We will travel to see volcanic tuff and learn how it was formed by a two volcanic eruptions more than a million years ago. We will go to the Valles Caldera to see the source of the eruption and participate in a service project there on a long day trip. We begin with a guided walk through campus, introducing the music, art, dance, theater, writing, chess, nature and recreation departments. Our administrative leadership will share a few ideas about what shapes the Usdan program, from where we draw our inspiration, and what makes a summer at Usdan unlike any other. We will explain the enrollment process, and you will be given a chance to talk in small groups, or individually, with our knowledgeable team of arts faculty and staff members. We end the visit with a self-guided walk and exploration of the grounds. This track is designed for seniors who are graduating in May, and as such, is a shortened week of camp. Exact schedule is determined around participants graduation dates, but typically runs Mon-Friday.
