Be a Civil War Soldier: Kid’s Camp - Mansfield, LA
Have you ever wanted to be a Civil War soldier? Are you between 8-12 years old? Mansfield State Historic Site is hosting an “immersive” event that will allow you to experience what many of the soldiers of the American Civil War did. Be enlisted, set up your camp, drill, enjoy a period type lunch, and more! There are 16 slots available for this program and pre-registration is required. Registration is $25 (paid on day of program) for each child, which includes the meal. The last day for Pre-Registration is April 8th. Hosted by Jeremy and Joni McLarty. Saturday, November 5th. Eat at 12:00, draw for hunting spots at 1:30, hunt at 2:30 until dark (exact stopping time will be announced on day of hunt). All people who attend Beulah Church are invited to come eat and attend event, and any non-hunters are invited to hang out at the cabin during hunt. Open to any kids between the ages of 5 and 11 years-old who attend Beulah Church. All entries must have an adult who is over the age of 21 to accompany them on their hunt. All entries and accompanying adults must sign a release form on day of hunt. Limit one buck and one doe per kid. The hunt will be held at Jumper Lake this year, only a few miles from the church. Each participant is asked to bring their own ATV or 4-wheel drive truck if possible, if not then please let hosts know ahead of time so we can try to make arrangements for you. 2016 RVA 6-8 yr. old Fishing Camp - Forest Hill Park
This week with Virginia Fishing Adventures offers campers the opportunity to learn the basics of freshwater fishing, from casting, to lure and bait choices, to the best places to catch fish. We fish mostly private ponds with this younger camp to ensure success. Safety is our number one priority, so all campers will wear life jackets when in the water or on a boat. Also, we maintain a 1-to-4 counselor-to-camper ratio. 804-272-6362
Scientists Explorers - Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Alabama
Scientist Explorers will engage in activities real scientists use to explore marine life and the ocean including research, microscopes, animal behaviors and anatomy. A field trip to the Alabama Marine Resources in Gulf Shores will take place on Thursday to tour the facility, which contains a fish hatchery with marine biologists.
