Although they mentioned "life changing" on their mission statement I though that was just advertising. It turns out this truly was a life changing summer for our daughter. She was also a sweet girl a little on the shy side. But this summer she seemed to blossom. She came home confident and eager to participate in activities at our church. Farmersburg Youth League will be hosting a camp with the NCHS 2A State Champion Softball team and Baseball team The camp will be located at: North Central High School Boys Camp August 1st, 2015 9:00am to Noon $10.00 per child (ages K – 8th grade) Each parent must sign a waiver when the child is dropped off. ! Please arrive early enough to do so. The camp will start promptly at 9:00am!! This is going to be a fun weekend learning about God and why we can trust Him with lessons from Psalm 91-94 by Dave Chung.
Youth Summer Camp - Hampden Sydney, VA
The HST Summer Youth Camp will run for 4 days from 9 AM – 12 PM. The camp focus is on baseball instruction and drills to improve the skill. The camp will begin with an introduction of the fundamentals of baseball. Each day will begin with throwing and catching drills. The session will be followed by position training. Each player will learn about each position on the field. Each day there will also be a specialty skill learned. These skills will be base running, sliding, and bunting. Each day ends with games. We have felt the detrimental impact of state sanctioned violence, which has led to too many of our children, parents, friends, family and community members behind bars. CJNY member organizations continue to do the critical organizing and advocacy work to resist the structural racism within our justice and education systems. Players will develop athleticism through daily age-appropriate fitness activities, make friends and improve their game! In this class, students will explore a variety of different kinds of maps. By playing geography games and participating in fun activities, students will create a variety of maps, including cartograms, choropleths, dot maps, proportional symbol maps, maps with isolines, and flow maps. Reading, writing, and math skill building will be alternated with athletic activities to prepare incoming second, third, fourth, fifth & sixth graders. All curriculum will be aligned with Common Core Standards. Students will be given optional homework, needed literature and academic materials. Parents will be given an opportunity to share their childs needs prior to the camps introduction so curriculum can be individualized. Students will use the athletic activities and games to guide academic projects. Think calculating averages, graphing and sport related literature.
