A variety of sports will be introduced including floor hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and more! We will also play smaller, team-style sports such as dodgeball, kickball, capture the flag, and other schoolyard style sports. Campers will go on several sports related field trips throughout the summer. All campers will receive a camp shirt and must bring a sack lunch and water bottle to camp each day. Nevertheless, we are called to be holy because God is holy (Leviticus 11:44)... which sounds impossible. But the word "holiness" in Hebrew literally means "set-apartness." God isn't demanding impossible perfection. He calls every believer to live as uniquely separate (Leviticus 20:26), devoted to Him (1 Kings 8:53) and completely different from the world (1 Peter 1:13-16). It should be obvious to anyone who sees us that we are set apart (John 15:5-8). Jesus came to break our sin cycle and restore humanity's connection with our Creator God (2 Corinthians 5:19-21). Placing saving faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ's death on the cross justifies us before God (Romans 5:6-11). That incredible forgiveness and grace compels the true disciple toward righteousness, walking in God's ways not because we earn His grace, but because our love and thanksgiving manifests itself as obedience (1 John 5:1-5). This 4 week workshop will focus on making bags and purses using a resist method of wet felting. For many, felt is a crafting material sold in squares made out of some mish-mosh of synthetic fibers. Felting is actually extremely natural and is one of the most ancient art forms in mankinds history. It is still a widely used method which can create anything from clothing to toys and even houses. In this class, students will learn the basic process of wet felting which creates wool fabric by layering raw wool fibers, adding warm soapy water and a little elbow grease. This is an inter-generational class. The felting process is simple but can be very versatile which makes it a great opportunity for parents and children to work together side by side. The Princeton University Middle School Girls Ice Hockey Camp is designed for players (entering grades 6-8) whose aspiration is to get better by working on team and individual skills. This camp is both challenging and fun. Ice sessions will focus on the fundamentals of skill development and power-skating. Players will learn proper body position, edge control, and how to lengthen their stride. Puck protection, passing and scoring will be skills taught.
