This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.Extended care is offered before and after camp at Cabin John Ice for the Summer Fun Ice Skating Camp. Individual days ($8 per morning session, $12 per afternoon session) can be arranged and paid for in person at the rink, space permitting. Late pickup fee is $5 for each 15 minutes. Before-camp extended care (8am-9am) is also open to children registered for Outdoor Adventure Camp on applicable days. CentrKid Camp Meeting - Glen Allen, VA
Eric and I will be getting everyone together in the New Fellowship Hall for one last meeting before we go to camp. We will re-visit each camps departure and return times, money that is needed, packing lists, camp commissioning services, rules and expectations etc. If you have not turned in your paperwork or deposits, this will be your last opportunity to do so. If you still need your paperwork notarized, I will take care of that for you at the meeting. All Chaperones, Parents and Campers are welcome. The CentriKid Camp has four openings if your camper would like to invite their friend. Non Hunton Campers will need to pay the full fee for camp of $336. What would it take to harness the collective wisdom, resources and desires embodied in the New Culture community? This year at New Culture Summer Camp Cascadia, we will be exploring our creative edges, expanding our comfort zone, and integrating the skills, knowledge and intuitions of participants to co-create an experience that is unique, alive, and transformational. Level 1 & 2 Mountain Bike - Ute Valley Park @ Pinon Valley
This camp is for kids with Level 1 and Level 2 mountain biking skills. Kids will break into two groups after the first day of camp based on age/ability. LEVEL 1 After a kid has become confident riding a bicycle on two wheels, with the ability to steer and brake the bike appropriately, we move into more skill development of bicycle handling, overall confidence, and building up young mountain biking ambassadors. We teach appropriate trail and group riding etiquette and build on the childs ability to brake, steer, and handle the bicycle on gravel both uphill and downhill. LEVEL 2 This level becomes the difference between a ‘beginner and an ‘intermediate mountain biker. Though age is not the determining factor, kids are usually at least 7 years old and have been riding a bicycle confidently for a couple years. With level 2 comes more substantial mountain biking with drills specific to handling a bicycle on singletrack. Capacity for riding grows to longer consecutive riding stretches, maintaining energy and enthusiasm for riding, and the ability to show multiple riding skills naturally. Park Adventures Camp - Historic Yates Mill County Park
This adventure camp allows participants to gain a sense of accomplishment by attaining goals in a unique historical setting and diverse natural environment. Daily camp themes include (1) Explorers & Mapping, (2) Pioneer-Farmers & Agriculture, (3) Millers & Mechanics, (4) History Detectives, and (5) Artist-Naturalists & Ecology. Among other activities, Day 1 includes a hike around the park, orienteering exercises and a canoe float; Day 2 includes a planting activity and visits to a local organic farm and the State Farmers Market; Day 3 includes a mill tour and an inventors workshop with simple machines; Day 4 includes a group mystery to solve and a road trip to the NC Museum of History; and Day 5 includes wildlife studies and sketching, pond dipping with nets and cane pole fishing.
