What Staff Members Are On Site?
There are a number of trained staff on site. They undergo staff training to better understand the mission, policies, and schedule of the program. Different camps have different ratios. The smaller the ratio, the more individualized attention a camper will receive. For example, a 1:3 ratio means that there is one staff member per three campers. Some staff are focused on the daily care of youth in the cabin or program whereas others are trained to lead specialized activities. Paddle New York Summer Camp Weekend :Black River - Watertown, NY
When the water gets low the Black is the place to be. Great playboating at Hole Brothers, and a great river running all weekend. Boaters of all skill levels are welcome. Friday: Evening: Sunset surf session at Hole Brothers. Drinks and food at Maggie's on the River. Saturday: Morning surf session followed by a river run Freestyle clinics will be available. Sunset surf session Evening: Cookout in the campground Sunday: Freestyle clinics will be available. Freestyle Competition and/or Gorge Race Awards and Wrap-Up Camping: Black River Bay Campground. ACADEMIC - INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS - Notre Dame Academy
This course will teach students the basics of the history of robotics, along with key components of robots and how they developed over time. Following completion of short web research work, students will work in teams to learn to build robots, to program them and to use various sensors to make them "smart." As students progress, using Lego Mindstorm EV3 kits, they will learn to create more "sophisticated" robots that can do things the simpler ones cannot. Students will be graded on their knowledge of robot history and their components, as well as on their ability to complete specific exercises with the robots.
