Back to School Boot Camp: Second and Third Grade CurriculumGet your mind and body fit for the school year with this unique experience. Join Mr. Chad Hamilton and Mr. Ben Spencer, both credentialed teachers, for their Back to School Boot Camp! The program combines academic tutoring and athletic activities. Reading, writing, and math skill building will be alternated with athletic activities to prepare incoming second, third, fourth, fifth & sixth graders. All curriculum will be aligned with Common Core Standards. Students will be given optional homework, needed literature and academic materials. Parents will be given an opportunity to share their childs needs prior to the camps introduction so curriculum can be individualized. Students will use the athletic activities and games to guide academic projects. Think calculating averages, graphing and sport related literature. Boot Campers will receive one-on-one and small group instruction! Lets Put On a Show! (Reworked for 2016!) Lets Put On a Show! is designed to help young, aspiring singers and actors learn new skills for the musical theater stage. During the program, you will spend time learning how to create a character through your singing and acting, develop your songs into a story, and dance with fresh choreography designed specifically for you! This non-credit review course is designed for rising seventh, eighth, and ninth graders. Successfully completing the course (and passing the summer reading quizzes and tests on any book studied in the class) will satisfy the summer reading requirement for students enrolling at MUS for the 2016-17 school year.
