Adventure Rafting is designed for those wishing to experience the excitement of world-class whitewater. Rafters will take on Class II, III and IV rapids. Participants should be comfortable with getting wet with the potential of coming out of their boat. This is a one day trip to the U.S. Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC. Overland Kids Halloween Party
Mark your calendars, put on your costume and join us for a fun spooky night with all your friends. We will have costume contests by age groups, pizza and a drink for the kids, scavenger hunt, games and prizes, and candy! This is a free, safe, indoor trick-or-treating event open to children ages 2 to 12 of Overland Residents, Overland Business Owners, and City of Overland Employees and their families. Parents are required to accompany their children for the entire duration of their stay. Registration will start on October 1st and will end on October 29, or until the maximum number has been registered. This event will be held on Friday October 30 in the gymnasium at the Overland Community Center from 6-8:15 pm, with check in time between 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. only. All participants must be in costume and donate at least one can food item to enter the event. Register on Oct. 1 and be one of the first 175 overland kids entered into this year’s extraordinary Kids Halloween Party.

Camp - Junior Theater S2 M-F 9:30 am (Ages 7-12) - Beck Center for the Arts
This activity may not be registered for individually because it is part of a package.The Junior Theater Camp is designed for all students, whether or not they have prior performance experience. Campers work with theater professionals learning techniques in acting, singing, and dancing as they rehearse for their original show. This fun performance is a culmination of their work and features acting scenes and musical numbers. Actors present the show for family and friends on the last day of camp, August 12 at 11:30 am and 6:30 pm on the stage in Beck Centers Music & Dance Building Recital Hall. Information concerning performances and tickets is distributed the first day of camp. Students are required to participate in both performances. 3 weeks; Mon - Fri; 12:30 - 2:30 pm; Tuition: $270 (Does not include admission to performances) Tickets to the performances are $5 each. Performance seating is limited. There is a 30-minute informational orientation for parents and students on the first day of camp. Lunch-time supervision provided for students enrolling in both the Visual Arts and Junior Theater Camps. Middle School Computer Programing Week 4 - Knott Hall
Kids will learn computer programming using Scratch software (developed by MIT) and Code.org. During camp, students will think creatively while learning programming basics. By the end of the camp, these budding programmers will be able to put their imagination and creativity into the form of a computer program. This class is a great introduction into basic computer programming. Developed specifically for kids Grades 6-8, Computer Programming camp is a great introduction into coding and logic-based thinking. This camp offers a world of creative play and fantastical journeys as campers use their imaginations to discover new characters, locations, and even write their own dialogue. Through the fun of this camp, we teach teamwork, communication skills, and self-confidence. During this session, performers have the opportunity to write a script, compose original music, design and build scenery, and create their own costume pieces. This will offer an inspiring and fun summer activity for your child! Acting Adventures This is a great class for kids who love to engage in creative fun. Students will play popular theatre games that focus on improvisation technique, pantomime, movement and storytelling. By the end of the session, students will be proficient at using their Actors Tools – voice, body, and imagination – to create characters and tell a story.
