In 2015, our summer basketball camp program received great appreciation for our in-depth and intense basketball skill development regiment. The boys & girls who attended enjoyed a 1:9 trainer/camper ratios. Current NBA player Alonzo Gee provided teaching and instruction to youth, and our athletes reported a 40% increase in endurance, shooting efficiency, ball-handling, and confidence. 2016 Dorman Youth Football Camp - Roebuck, SC
The Dorman summer football camp is a non-contact camp designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of football to rising 2nd - 8th graders. The entire Dorman varsity football coaching staff, as well as all of our middle school coaches, will be instructing players in every facet of the game, including many of the same drills done by the Varsity Cavaliers. • Camp begins Monday, June 6th at 8:00am. Registration will begin at 7:30 each morning. 2016 Pre-Teen Summer Camp – Register March 9-11 - Scott Air Force Base
Youth, ages 9-13, are invited to register for the YP Pre-Teen Summer Camp which is held weekdays during the summer months from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This camp offers half day care with extracurricular activities for youth. Field trips will be conducted once a week to places like Sky Zone, City Museum, Raging Rivers Water Parks, The Fusion, laser tag, as well as excursions to base activities. (Field trips/activities such as bowling are an additional cost.) Fee: $100/child per week, plus the cost of excursions. Youth Programs membership is required. Annual Program membership is $48/child. Camp begins at 6:30 a.m., and ends at 12:30 p.m. when open recreation at the Youth Center starts. Youth are required to bring their own meals, however the snack bar is open periodically. Limited slots are available, sign-up early! PTHC Kid's Camp-Volunteers Urgently Needed! - Philadelphia, PA
On June 4th, 5th, and 6th, the Philadelphia Convention Center will be host to the annual Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference, the country's largest gathering of transgendered individuals, families, allies, and caregivers. Part of the festivities is the Kid's Camp, where we endeavor to provide safe, affirming, and awesomely fun activities to the children attending the camp. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we are low on volunteers on Friday afternoon and evening and all day Saturday. If you are available any portion of the day Friday from noon to 7 p.m. or Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and can supply a valid child abuse clearance (within the last 2 years), please message me. Environmental Art Camp (VSA Tennessee partnership) - Gallatin, TN
Environmental Art Camp is a program created specifically for individuals with disabilities over the age of 13 who are interested in the environment and have a love of art. The camp will be under the direction of VSA Tennessee teaching artist, Dee Kimbrell. During the camp, the young people will learn about environmental issues and their effect on our national parks. Participants will create their own tunnel books that reflect ecosystems within the parks. They will also create a larger tunnel book specific to the Smoky Mountain National Park. This book will be given to the park as a 100th anniversary gift at Tremont in October. The book will remain on site as an educational tool. Horse Camp - Week 7 - The Greenwell Foundation
Horse Camp is for children ages 7 – 14 (by first day of camp session). This camp is the ideal setting to learn and discover all things horses! After discovering which horse they will be partnered with, campers are assigned to a lesson group based on their incoming skill set. Horsemanship is emphasized by allowing campers to saddle their own horse, help care for their horse and learn all about horse health. Riders will be taught safety, comfort in the saddle and control of the horse. More experienced riders will be challenged through the week with pre-jumping skills, some gymnastic exercises and leg yielding. Each day, each group will have the opportunity to ride in the morning for approximately 30-45 minutes after spending time grooming and tacking up horses. When not participating in a riding lesson, they will learn about barn management and all things horse! In addition to riding and working with the horses, campers will have the opportunity to do archery, kayaking, hiking, field games, crafts and get wet with water games.
