Morning: Robotic Golf Open Things on the golf course just arent the same since Lego Robotics have taken over! The holes having moving machines/obstacles and the par just keeps raising. Students will use their imagination and creativity to design and modify unique golf holes on most days. When students are not golfing, they are fighting for the most golf balls with Crabs in the sand trap and having a Golf Cart show down (maneuverability race and battle). Not only do you create your own golf course anew with different obstacles, but teams build and modify a Lego club too. On the last day, the 18th Hole, build a Hole-in-One Catapult! Go for a Hole-in-One! Go for the Robotic Golf Open! Note: Even though between some weekly sessions there might appear the same program names, in our actual education program, we will have different depth of technology and engineering principles to be applied by our children under our inspirational guidance... Students will learn how to program a robot to navigate through maze challenges, detect obstacles and even get the opportunity to duel other robot teams in a mini sump competition. By the end of the camp students will show off their learned robotics skills, experience STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) first hand and take their robot home to continue their exploration of its many capabilities. Its all about color and imagination this session, which will explore artwork by famous Modern and Post Modern masters like Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin and Pablo Picasso. These artists experimented with depicting the world using fantastic colors, and a bold and expressive style of brushwork. We will experience color in a whole new way while working in fine art materials, found objects, collage, printmaking, and more! Campers will be inspired to create their own wild and wonderful masterpieces. Explore the Civil War with author, historian and former Gettysburg National Park Ranger, Jeff Evans. Throughout the course of the week we will experience Civil War drill, clothing, equipment and even food. Campers receive their own Civil War enlistment and discharge papers and even muster for pay. The Battles of Antietam and Gettysburg will be used to examine the world of Civil War battle. The role of local units will be closely examined.
