Our camp days will include harvesting, making garden snacks, singing, storytelling, garden caretaking, garden crafts, and investigation of the natural world. Each day has a theme (past examples: Bugs, Seeds, Chickens & Eggs). This camp serves 15 campers with a 1:5 ratio of instructors to campers, allowing us to tailor camp activities to the ages and interests of those present. For 4-6 year olds. In this week long camp, scientists will become geologists and paleontologists as we sift, sort and classify rocks, make rock models, compare the saturation rates and composition of different types of soil and make a yummy dirt dessert to take home. Well work with dirt-dwelling insects, learn about the rock cycle, make models of the earth and mix up a batch of quicksand. Summer Inspired on the Farm - Deep Roots Community Farm
Join us for this three day farm adventure! We will plant, tend and eat fresh fruits and vegetables from the gardens, build with natural materials, and explore the farms streams, forests and native prairie. We will tend to the farm animals and learn about respectful methods of animal care. And of course, well make some awesome art projects together, including hand stitched journals, water color paintings, woodworking, origami, upcycled CD art and so much more. During this session our biology lessons will explore monarch butterflies and their habitats. All programming is led by Ana Skemp, M.S.
