Has your child or teen ever dreamed of flying — the amazing freedom, the fun, the excitement? Join professional teachers of aerials arts and acrobatics for our exciting camps! Open to kids ages 4-18, (different age groups available) campers are invited to Frequent Flyer's Aerial Dance Studio to learn skills on trapeze, aerial fabric, sling, acrobatics and so much more. Here's what a parent said about her child's experience in camp in early June: "I just wanted to let you know that she has LOVED this camp. It is such a pleasure when I sign my child up for a camp to know that the money was well spent, and that there is no whining about going to camp - she's up and out of bed, lunch packed and ready to go every morning. The Bay Areas finest musical theatre professionals teach kids how to sing, act and dance! This adventurous program explores theatre through collective creation, story development and improvisation. Students also learn about various aspects of technical theatre, such as set construction, painting, costumes and make-up. Guided by their teachers, students share their creativity with parents and friends on the final day of camp. Performance on final day at 3:00 pm. Participants need to bring a bag lunch daily. 7th-9th Grade film campers in are in for a fun and exciting hands-on introduction to the media arts in a beautiful natural setting. Start the week filming around the natural beauty of the Icicle Creek Campus, followed by two days of editing and post production. From concept to final cut, young filmmakers will experience each step of the creative process and experiment with new technologies. Campers will learn how to conduct a meaningful interview, handle a camera, set up a shot, record audio, and even shoot aerials from a drone. And once the footage is all gathered, of course, it all has to be organized and edited. By the end of the week, campers will have planned, shot and edited their own movie and well cap it all off with a family screening complete with popcorn! We are going to offer a limited aftercare program from 3 until 5:30. This will largely not be computer related, but more about enjoying some of the University of Utah campus - doing activities like bowling or games on the open spaces. I know this does not solve the problem for those enrolled in the Beginning Scratch camp ending at 11:45AM. Sorry. We will distribute a daily schedule so that you can pickup early if needed.
