Writing & Journalism - Montessori Academy at Vickery
During Writing and Journalism, students will have the opportunity to write and thoroughly edit and review 1-2 creative writing pieces (such as poems, short stories, novel excerpts, short plays or play excerpts, memoir, personal essay, etc.) Students will learn the art of interviewing and will also be given the opportunity to work through some aspects of the publication process by spending the last day of class compiling handmade class books. 770-777-9131

Hip Hop Music & Live Recording [D] - Capitol Hill Recording Studio
In a professional recording studio youll be turning out of your own original music, lyrics, beats, and synthesized music and turn them into music videos. With a talented hip-hop artist & music producer, youll work up electronic beats, lyrics and rhythms. Youll record & produce your music using state of the art mikes, mixing boards, software, & digital editing equipment. If you play an instrument, bring it in and add more live music. Art Across Cultures - St. Johns Catholic Elementary School
Art Across Cultures - During this session, you will make and learn about art all over the world. You will have the chance to try out new techniques and media while making art inspired by cultures near and far. An After School art class where students in grades 1 - 6 will HAVE FUN and learn to draw. By using our simple drawing method and weekly format certified instructors help students create original works of art beyond what they thought possible. We are a drawing based program, complimented with artistic projects and curriculum that never repeat. We offer exposure to many mediums over the course of a students education. Week 1: Young Scientist/Photography and Fiber Arts - The Childrens Tree Montessori School
Young Scientists (3-6): Daily experiments and take-home project, exploring the human body and our senses and the universe will keep preschoolers busy. Photography & Fiber Arts (6-12): Participants will explore local nature areas with cameras and learn digital editing. Those interested in fiber arts will also learn to knit, crochet and weave. Participants will need to bring their own camera. KidSport Afternoon: Tennis & Golf, 6/27 - 7/1 - Scarlett Middle School
[] KidSport Afternoon: Tennis and Golf Each week features a different sport teaching basic fundamentals skills, rules, team building and sportsmanship and open swimming time. Director: Kerry Winkelseth, UM School of Kinesiology. Campers bring snacks and water. Afternoons, Monday-Friday. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Curbside Drop-off. Staff will pick-up your camper from your car at 1:00 PM and bring your camper to your car at 4:00 PM. KidSport offers children the opportunity to learn and refine non-competitive sport-specific, team building and social skills. The activities are age appropriate and developed by experts in childrens physical education. KidSport is staffed by certified teachers as well as physical education and education majors focused on providing a first-rate experience for your kids!
