TRI-It! This camp is designed for beginner triathletes that have competitive swimming or running experience. Find out why triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in America and learn about NCAA scholarships for female athletes! USA Triathlon certified coaches (including Dr. Karen Edwards, Director of Afterschool and Summer at Laurel) will teach basic skills for completing your first triathlon. Learn open water skill techniques, bike handling skills (including braking, riding in a group, and safety skills) and running to maximize speed and minimize impact. Transition skills and strength and conditioning for endurance sports will also be covered. Tuition includes coaching, transportation to swim venue, and lunch. Basic swim proficiency is required. Does your child love science? And love to cook? This course is where cooking meets science! In this session, the campers learn about the science that goes behind cooking. But not all recipes are edible! The children will make lots of fun putties and slimes too! From growing yeast to building a radio out of a fruit to baking the yummiest science of all! The children will learn that their kitchen is filled with wonderful products that create some very explosive, gooey, slimy, fun and delicious science! We will build some unique items with basic things from our kitchen, make silly putty, arctic slime, and even play dough with your own scented design. Students build a sandcastle without ever stepping foot on the beach! They also change the properties of chocolate to make their very own chocolate bars! With some basic scientific knowledge, your child will learn to build a battery out of a pickle! Have your child join us for an educational experience that isnt just delicious, its also fun! In this rigorous, half-day camp, youll learn the form and style of the test--which was completely redesigned as of March 2016--as well as the essential content and strategies for approaching each question on the critical reading and writing portions of the SAT. You will learn how to recognize the types of questions asked on the reading passages, become a more critical reader, and identify the evidence on which your answers are based. For the writing section, we will review the most commonly tested grammar rules and skills as well as learn and practice what it takes to write an outstanding essay, which is now optional and follows a completely different format from the previous version of the SAT. Youll leave this camp with the confidence and skills to make your best score yet on critical reading and writing! (An SAT book will be provided.) Junior Buffs Camp *click for description - Colorado Volleyball Camp
The Junior Buffs Camp is designed for the beginning player looking to learn or improve his or her skills. Campers will be divided into groups by age and skill level while learning appropriate movements and volleyball skills in a fun atmosphere. Whether you are new to the sport or just want a refresher course on basic skill in a pressure free environment, this camp is for you! Every registration requires full payment. A $50 fee will be retained on all cancellations for any reason to cover credit card fees and administrative expenses. The remaining amount will be credited back to ones account if paid by credit card. If paid by check, the University will cut a check back to the original payee. For prompt processing, refund requests should be made prior to the start of camp. A pro-rated fee system will be in effect for those campers only attending partial days of camp.
