LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Boys Lacrosse week 7 - Knott Hall
Coach Ben Rubeor will run the 2016 Loyola Lacrosse Camp. Ben was named the USA Today National Coach of the Year and the Maryland Private School Coach of the Year after winning the 2015 MIAA ‘A Conference Championship. Ben was a three-time All-American attackman, two-time Academic All-American, and two-time team captain at the University of Virginia, where he won an undefeated National Championship in 2006. He was also named the ACCs Top Male Scholar Athlete in 2008. He played 8 seasons of professional lacrosse, served as a team captain of the Chesapeake Bayhawks, and won 3 Major League Lacrosse titles. He will lead a staff of Loyola coaches and players to teach the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun and competitive environment. The camp is designed for all levels of players. Campers will learn individual skills, including stickwork, footwork, dodging, shooting, and individual defense. Campers will practice these drills in an up-tempo environment. In addition, campers will learn team concepts and compete in a number of game-like situations, and they will have the opportunity to earn a number of prizes. The goal of the camp is to inspire players to continue to improve and to teach the concepts that have led Loyola to consistent success. 443 841 3328

The San Jose Museum of Art, full-day art camps offer in-depth art experiences for South Bay youth. Our campers gain access to the Museums galleries outside of normal operating hours as they discover artistic design principles through drawing, painting, and sculpting techniques! Led by Museum faculty and inspired by our current exhibitions, the Museums popular Art Camps teach kids how to look at, talk about, and create their own art. Each student receives an art supply kit containing all the materials they need, and the camp culminates in a one-day public exhibition of student work. Young artists explore drawing, painting mixed media, sculpture, and design as they visit the galleries to gather inspiration from exhibited artwork. Kayak Fishing Camp is for children ages 8 – 12 (by first day of camp session). This camp combines two of the favorite activities at camp – kayaking and fishing! The week begins with a lesson on the water learning kayaking skills with a certified instructor. The campers will then have two opportunities during the week to be on the water, combining these two skills – and hopefully catch some fish! With help from a member of the Maryland Saltwater Sport fishing Association (MSSA), campers will have on-land instruction learning how to tie lures, cast a line and what fish can be found in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Friday, the campers get to choose if they want to fish or go crabbing from the boat launch or fish from a kayak. In addition to all the fishing and kayaking, campers will also have the opportunity to do archery, field games, crafts and get wet with water games.
