Happy to announce that The Slyboots School of Music, Art & Dance will return to the outstanding Griffis Sculpture Park for an ALL AGES Summer Camp in August of 2015. ! GOAL Positive social change through cultural arts education. Educate students about music, art and dance from various cultures all over the world. Inspire students to discover their own uniqueness through the arts and by doing so, allow them to understand the interconnectedness and importance of culture and the arts in today’s world. Take a deep dive into becoming a screenprint expert using the professional equipment that Kalas studio has to offer. We will start with the basics of cutting stencils for DIY printing and then move into more complex methods including multi-layered, repeat pattern, and photography-based images. Print on paper, fabric, shirts, and other clothing. Whether you are interested in drawing, hand-lettering, digital media, photography or graphic design, this is the class for you! Instructor Bio: Claire Kessler-Bradner is a second-generation San Francisco printmaker. Growing up in the culture of the print shop, she developed a love of process and problem-solving, materials, equipment and tools, and the collaborative camaraderie of making together. Her work in printmaking, painting, drawing, book arts, and sculpture addresses the narrative intersection of place and memory. After earning her MFA at California College of the Arts, Claire returned to teaching fine art at the middle and high school level. 2016 Elite Soccer ID Camp - Dr Dan DeLoache Field
Residential Elite Camp Coach Rob Czlonkas Elite Camp is by far one of the most exciting camps we offer. This camp attracts players looking to take their game to the next level. During this camp players will focus on both the technical and tactical sides of the game. Players will be shown how to improve their individual foot work as well as how to read the game and react accordingly. In the end, this camp gives each player an inside look as to what it takes to play competitive college soccer and more specifically what its like to be a member of the NSU Mens Soccer Team. NSU coaches will be providing primary instruction and evaluation however various other college coaches representing a wide ranging of programs from Junior college to NCAA Division I maybe in attendance as guest instructors. Goalkeeper Academy As Part of the Advanced and Elite Camps, this camp is designed around the specialized training of Keepers that is required for the players positional development. This will prepare goalies that are passionate about the position for what the college game requires. Smooth-Style Lindy with Charlie Wyler and Stacy Rathbun - Born 2 Dance Studio
This class is NOT TO BE MISSED by any dancer who is interested in improving their skill level. Concentrating on Smooth-Style Lindy (also referred to variously as Hollywood-Style, Dean Collins Style, and So-Cal Lindy), this class will improve your whips and swing-outs, help you develop floor-craft, work on styling, and emphasize lead-and-follow technique. Class will focus on drilling the Lindy Whip and the Push, concentrating on the concepts of weight sharing, counter balance, compression, syncopation, etc. First 30 minutes of class will be spent on working the basics with intense drilling; following 60 minutes will be spent exploring new challenges.
