Summer / Adventure Camp Registration - Solon, OH
The Solon Recreation Department offers two day camps that run in conjunction with one another. The Summer Camp is for pre-kindergarten to fourth graders (child must be at least 5 years old and no older than 12 on their first day of camp). The Adventure Camp is for current fifth & sixth graders (child must be 12 years old or younger on their first day of camp). Camp consists of sports, swimming, activities, field trips and much, much more. The schedules and activities are age appropriately planned. A tentative calendar for 2016 will be available at the Solon Community Center or on-line after February 16. Need more information…Please look on-line at www.solonohio.org. Camper Handbooks, calendars, registration forms and registration information will all be posted on our website in February 2016. The Summer Camp: On The Road Tour returns this February & March – come out and support your favorite local bands as they compete for the chance to perform alongside moe., Umphrey’s McGee, Steve Miller Band, Widespread Panic, STS9, Big Gigantic and many more at the 15th Annual Summer Camp Music Festival this May. Kids After Schoo Core Cooking Camp, Ages 5-8 (Bellevue) - Bellevue, WA
This is a wonderful program that will lay the foundation for healthy eating by educating and empowering students (ages 5-8) about basic kitchen safety, creating a healthy balanced plate, how to subsititue ingredients to make meals healthier and so much more! Classes are sold in a session of four, are held on Wednesdays frm January 4th-25th and are two hours long. The first 30 minutes of each class is dedicated to nutrition education including games and activities. The remaining time is dedicated to cooking, eating, and cleanup. Our Core Cooking Program covers topics such as: Kitchen Safety, Cross-Contamination, Healthy Snacks, Fueling Your Body, Healthy Breakfasts, MyPlate Nutrition, Lunch N Munch, Healthy Cooking Substitutions of Kids’ Favorite Foods Activity sheets, recipes, helpful tips, and individual workstations for hands-on activity are included in the course. Recipes may include things like: avocado veggie dip, peanut butter banana whole wheat coins (nut-free substitutions available if needed), eggs in a basket, French toast, chocolate banana & strawberry smoothie, cranberry broccoli salad, zesty bean dip, pizza spiral sandwiches, sweet potato fries, steak/chicken/veggie grilled skewers, and Parmesan chicken tenders. A clinic for women of all skill levels. Would you like to chip it closer to the hole every time, eliminate 3 putts and improve your pitching to the green? Bring the favorite club you like to chip with along with an 8-iron, sand-wedge and pitching-wedge. Class includes golf balls and training tools. Get ready for Session 2! We are excited for you to spend your summer skiing at Windells Camp. Its a place in the mountains to experience unstoppable camp fun! Its a place to make life long friends; a place to ride with the pros; a place where beginner, intermediate, and expert skiers can sharpen their skills. Its a place with the longest running and most creative snow parks in North America. After all, Windells Summer Ski Camp is the funnest place on earth! 503-622-3736
Opti Race (Session 1 AM) - NESS
Prerequisite: Opti Green Fleet/instructor recommendation Students will work on more advanced boat handling techniques, including roll tacks and jibes, and will be introduced to more racing tactics, strategies and techniques. Sailors will learn what it takes to progress to the next level of Opti racing and will be expected to compete in local Opti regattas where Red, White and Blue fleets are formed by age. Having your own racing level Opti is an advantage at this stage and students are encouraged to bring their own boats. All students will be under the supervision of our race coach in class and at specific local regattas. Last summer we supported and coached our sailors in 7 local day-long Opti regattas and expect to support about the same number of events this year. Regatta fees are not included. 860-535-9362
