ACT-OUT! Acting School proudly announces Our Seventh Annual Youth Summer Camp and Production of "Tom & Huck!" The Story of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn (all roles in "Tom & Huck!" are open, and may be cast to actors of any age 3-18, any race, or any gender). Since 2007, Act-Out! has been providing Bay Ridge & the Greater Brooklyn Area with world-class acting instruction at very affordable prices. We have served students of all ages and levels of experience, from beginners to Broadway veterans. Led by NYS-Certified drama teacher and Award-winning actor John Stillwaggon (see below for brief biography), students learn physical and vocal preparation, improvisation, line memorization, stagecraft, action/obstacle work, as well as character and scene analysis. Students and parents have reported vast improvements not only in acting ability, but in such life skills as conflict resolution, goal-setting, teamwork, discipline, memory, and self-esteem. At the close of the two-week camp (students meet for four hours each weekday), the student ensemble performs a full-length, original theatrical production. If you would like to volunteer at Camp Hope of East TN this summer, please complete this online application. By default, you will be added to the "Waitlist" once your background check has been completed and approved, you will be "Registered" for the session. This system is designed to streamline the volunteer application and screening process. You can apply for as many positions and camp sessions as you like, however, you will be contacted by the camp director, Kraig Otto, upon approval of your background check. You will be able to determine along with Kraig how, where, and when you can serve as a volunteer at Camp Hope. Boys and girls will enjoy age appropriate activities that include: dribbling, trapping, shooting and soccer games. Whether your child is a beginner, intermediate player or experienced club player, our camp will provide the training that will best fir their needs. New Horizons Day Camp: Week 7, August 8-12 - Cook/Douglass Rec. Center
New Horizons Summer Day Camp is open to ages 5-11 only. Each week will feature team sports, arts and crafts, daily swim lessons, individual sports, fitness activities, a special event and a trip. ALL campers are carefully supervised by Recreation professionals with a ratio of 5:1 or better. Camp meets from 8:30am-4:30pm.
