This is the Ultimate 100 Camp Invite Only event for current 7th. 8th, and 9th Graders. It will be located in Delaware at Smyrna High School. If you are invited from the East Region you should register here. States that are in this region are Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia. Join us as we gently explore the trails of the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art in search of leaves, twigs, acorns, etc. so that we can create our own beautiful nature-inspired craft projects and works of art. Date: Thursday, August 18th 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. or Friday, August 19th 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Ages: 4 – 8 with an adult Instructors: Beth Sanders, Santino Lauricella NOTE: Choose ONE OF TWO sessions for this camp. Elementary school youth within the autism spectrum. Activities for campers include coloring and painting, musical games, playground fun, swimming twice a week and local field trips. Quiet time, low lighting and sensory activities will be used as a transition from ESY to camp. Depending on skill levels, campers will be divided into two groups during some activities. To be successful, must be able to follow one/two step directions, ability to manage their behavior and be able to make simple choices. Campers must exhibit ability for self care with limited assistance with changing or prompting using bathroom. Staff ratio: 1 staff/4 participants. All meals provided during Thursday overnight experience. Adventure Academy summer camp is open to children ages 7-14. We strive to ensure that each child leaves camp with long-lasting memories of adventure, discovery and friendship. We provide a safe environment in which to have new experiences, gain an appreciation for the outdoors and develop leadership skills and abilities. Our 10:1 camper to counselor ratio ensures a quality experience for each child. Adventure Academy takes place on Camp Mary Ortons 167 wooded acres, bordered by the Olentangy River.
