LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Counselors-In-Training - Wk. 7 (FD) - F. H. Hammond Elementary School
Teens, ages 12-14, get the opportunity to gain valuable experience and have alot of fun as a CIT. This camp will teach them how to be great future camp counselors through planning, team building, teaching and supervision. Upon aging out of this camp, does not mean you can apply for a camp counselor. You must be 18. Each week a parent letter and itinerary will be compiled for you to take which will list all activities/trips for that week. These will be available on the sign-in table each week. All camp activities will be held between 9AM-4PM. Parents are able to drop their child(ren) off between 7AM-9AM and pick them up between 4PM-6PM. All scheduled activities and trips will take place during the 9AM-4PM time frame. Early drop-off/pick-up will be designated for free time, smaller organized games and/or board games. Full-day campers should pack a lunch, 2 snacks and plenty of water. Half-day campers should pack a snack and plenty of water. All campers should have their own sunscreen and wear gym shoes. How Are Emergency Situations Handled?
Emergency action plans are in place, reviewed with staff and practiced to ensure that campers are safe. These plans focus on everything from weather and health issues to missing camper or medical emergencies. All staff members, regardless of their role, are trained in these procedures to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Your children are in safe hands! If there is an issue, the staff will make sure to call the parents to make sure they are updated on all medical action taken or a weather-related situation like a bad storm. All safety equipment is reviewed at the start...

Teen Director's Camp - New Bern, NC
Info and application posted under Children's Programs on Rivertowne's Website! www.rivertowneplayers.org This week long camp will meet every afternoon. We will work with local directors to learn technique, stage blocking and tableaus, the audition process, vetting and preparing a show, ect. Guest directors will visit with us to tell us about their personal techniques. There are VERY limited spots. An application will be available for the first two weeks of June. This is FREE OF CHARGE! We do hope to host a teen show this spring, and the production team will come from this camp.
FREE Kids Gun Safety Class! - Norwalk, OH
*********SORRY CLASS IS NOW FULL AS OF 11:30 ON 9/9/16. IF YOU COMMENTED BEFORE THIS TIME YOU ARE CONFIRMED AS GOING. THANKS!!!*********** Parents please stay with your children for this event. Bring lawn chairs to relax in. This will be our final Kids Gun Safety Class this season. Ages 5-17. We have found that this is a great learning experience for parents and children alike. We are working with the local law enforcement community to have officers, equipment and K9's available for demonstration. Children will be shooting .22 and 9mm pistols as well as .22 rifles. An instructor will be with the children to assist in holding. Please confirm in the discussion thread if you are coming. Donations of cash or ammo will be accepted at the registration table but are not mandatory for attendance. All donations go to future children's classes. Registration will start at 12:00 so please be early! Thanks!!

Young Builder (HALF DAY ONLY) - San Juan Del Rio Catholic School
This is the HALF DAY option for Young Builder. Campers ages 4-5 will want to join us to learn exciting construction techniques using LEGO® bricks. Little Builder allows campers to take their first steps into science and engineering. By using the themes of construction and travel, campers learn about machines, the tools used to work on machines, and their functions. Our material packs include a wide range of bricks and special elements in various shapes, sizes, and colors that are ideal for stimulating childrens creative and imaginative skills. Camp counselors will introduce tasks each day in building vehicles, planes, buildings, towns and transportation systems as we work in groups to build a LEGO city! Campers receive lots of suggestions for ideas but are encouraged to use their own creativity and imagination. Stories and games are also incorporated into this camp, perfect for our youngest little campers, ages 4 and 5. Our pre-k half day camps are 9am-1pm with pre camp options available as well! Chamber Music Camp July 18-22, 9am-4pm Grades 9-12 Come make music amongst friends! Trios, quartets, quintets are forming with strings, piano, woodwinds and brass. Groups will have the opportunity to be coached by our outstanding faculty, participate in masterclasses, learn rehearsal techniques while building skills and friendships for a lifetime. Students will also participate in a variety of elective courses. The camp will culminate in a final performance on Friday afternoon. This camp requires the student to have basic note reading skills.
