What is in an eye? Students will explore the visual systems of mammals through the dissection of a cow eye! Identifying various cow-eye structures, they will discover how the cow eye compares to a human eye! The Fall edition of our Teen Power Camp provides a fundamental fitness foundation for any high school student, scaled to anyone from first timers just trying to get into shape to high school athletes looking for structured off-season training or additional in-season work. The Teen Power Program will introduce athletes to bodyweight exercises, gymnastics, powerlifting and basic olympic weightlifting, all while under the close supervision of a certified CrossFit instructor. Our goal is to teach local Teens how to safely and efficiently move their body and external objects (bars, kettlebells, medicine balls, etc) through space, dramatically improving body composition and improving athletic ability in anyone. Our program is designed to increase stamina, strength, power, endurance, coordination, balance, accuracy and flexibility in any person, all while in a team environment filled with positive people. The adventurous humans uncover vegetarian vampires and rock n roll werewolves, gradually realizing there may be more to these monsters than meets the eye! Equestrian Camps - Horseback Riding - Camp Olympia
Children will ride twice a day 4 times per week, swim every day, and do various unmounted horse activities including leading horses, unsaddling, grooming, bathing, cleaning tack, plus general barn responsibilities. There is no riding on Thursdays (horses much deserved day off- try running around in 90+ degree weather with a fur coat on), but the kids will have unmounted horse activities such as those listed above and have the opportunity to play Camp Game, traditional favorite. Long pants, smooth, hard soled shoes, bathing suit, towel, and lunch are needed every day. All camp forms must be completed and received by Camp Olympia before camper can attend this program.
