LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Middle School - Week 3 - Orlando Campus
General Camp Information: Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration Fee: $220 Includes: Five full days of camp, a field trip, activities, materials, daily snacks, and a camp T-shirt. Campers are required to bring a bag lunch each day. Where and When: Our Summer Camp will be held at our Orlando facility in our Education Center room. Campers will be able to enter through the Education Center door which is located to the left of the Business Office and Clinic entrances. Camp staff will be greeting campers between 8:30 and 9:00a.m. Please be prompt! On field trip days, we may be leaving as little as 15 minutes after camp begins. Campers must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian each day. Camp Activities: The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlandos Summer Camp is designed for kids who love animals. Campers will experience hands on activities with shelter pets, gain knowledge from educational speakers, and enjoy animal-related arts & crafts, enrichment projects, games, and much more. Each weeks session also includes a field trip, providing campers with an additional fun and educational experience outside of the shelter environment. Royal Family Kids Camp Fundraiser - Shelbyville, IL
This fundraiser will be with Thirtyone. I'll be setting up downstairs in the meeting room at Monicals in Shelbyville. All products will be set up to see In person as well as catalogs. This will be an open house from 2pm to 5pm. All sales made help and are very much appreciated as ALL commission from this fundraiser will go towards Natalie storm and her royal family kids camp. Coat-A-Kid Charity BootCamp - Chesterfield, MO
This will be our 3rd consecutive December hosting a Coat-A-Kid Charity BootCamp! Come out to support an awesome charity, have fun and get your sweat on... that is unless you hate kids! ;) All fitness levels are welcome! Classes are 1 hour and begin at 8am & 9:30am. Max 20 people per group so be sure to sign up in advance! $20/person (you can pay at the door or in advance). The $20 donation will cover the cost of a NEW coat, gloves and hat for 1 child. Arcade Game Design - The Digital Arts Experience
Code your own arcade game and design your own controller that works with it! The first half of this class will involve students coding their own old school arcade style game from scratch. Think something like Spade Invaders, Galaga, Pong and more! Then, well have the students work with Arduino UNOs & breadboards and use physical programming to wire their own controller to work with the game. Finally, students will design their very own case for their controller that we will print out using our 3D Printers! Come both physical and digital programming for this interactive class where students will be able to show off their games and controllers to friends and family! **Please note**: We have Arduino UNOs & breadboards for the students to use as their controllers for the duration of the class but they will need to be returned at the end. After the first few weeks of class, however, we will offer the option to order an Arduino Starter Kit ($99) for the students so that they will be able to work on their own units and take home with them. If youve ever wanted to design a play jungle for hamsters, a four-story luxury dog house, or the coolest cat castle the world has ever seen, this class is for you! In this workshop, well use Design Thinking to research, invent, and prototype new solutions for happier pets. Come prepared to create, think about animals, and build a pet utopia! Instructor Bio: Rei Jackler is an Oakland arts educator, design teacher, writer, and maker nerd. She holds a Masters in Teaching from Stanford University, where she also trained in Design Thinking at the D.School. In Oakland, she is currently Makerspace Manager for the La Escuelita Elementary School Makerspace, and has also taught design with Chapter 510. Rei loves making of all kinds: knitting multi-colored scarves, writing fantastical short stories, and baking with a lot of chocolate. Camp Discovery - Week 9 - Butterfield Park District
Learn the ins and outs of camp through exploring with a half day. Camp Discovery is a great way to introduce your child to the camp experience. The camp will be combined with the K-2 camp located at the Butterfield Park District. Children will experience a wide variety of nature, crafts, sports, and games.
