Teen Dance Camp! - Vancouver, WA
9:30am – 3:30pm Monday thru Thursday 9:30am through 7pm Showcase on Friday Are you ready to DANCE. ? Teenagers (ages 13-18) of all dance levels are invited to register for our first ever Dance Camp July 6-10, 2015. Students will enjoy skill-based instruction in tap, musical theater, and hip hop from professional dance teachers as they do their morning rotations. After a time of worship, Bible study, and small group time, each day will end with a full company production number rehearsal. The camp will take place at Groove Nation West with three different mirrored studio instruction rooms for optimum learning, and the performance on the Mago Hunt stage at the University of Portland campus. Using scenes from some of the leading voices in contemporary theatre, students will learn how to approach performing in 2-3 person scenes. Studies will include dramaturgical research, scoring the script, scene coaching, and in-class performances with feedback. This course requires approximately 3 hours of rehearsal with an assigned scene partner(s) prior to each class. Scene Study culminates in a final performance. 703-444-5888
