Half Day Camp Minnehaha - AM - Week 4 (PreK-K) - MA Lower School
This camp is designed to provide a half-day alternative for students who are enrolled in a half-day specialty class but would like to stay the whole day or for students who simply want to partake in a morning session of Camp Minnehaha. Camp Discovery Rising Kindergarten and 1st Grade Early Childhood Teachers July 18-22 9am-2pm Lunch included in fee Engaging, inquisitive, collaborative learning...Camp Discovery offers children entering kindergarten and first grade the opportunity to explore and discover unique topics through the childs own discoveries. Inspired by Harvards Project Zero and the schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy, Camp Discovery offers… -supportive, experienced teachers that will support and deepen playful learning surrounding unique, child-driven topics and themes -an exciting and developmentally appropriate learning environment, including time exploring nature and outdoor spaces -high-quality, authentic scientific, design, and art materials -child and teacher-created documentation of the childs learning journey throughout the week Questions about this camp? Adventure Sailing M,W,F ($215 for 1 week, Members) - Nantucket Yacht Club
Please select a minimum of one week. The class, which meets 3 days a week, will have a distinct goal for each day: Long Sail Day - try to sail as far as possible from the club using wind direction, current/tide forecast, and navigational aides. During the following class the student will chart their course on a chart in the Sail Room with pins and yarn, and we can compare progress week to week. Star Chart Day - Students identify skills from the star chart they want to achieve (Anchoring, knots, upwind sailing, etc), and finally Catamaran Day! Students may take this course for a maximum of 4 weeks, and class may not be held if less than 2 children are signed up. The goal of Adventure Sailing is to accumulate the skills for the student to check out a Rhodes 19 on their own. (Note: Adventure Sailing will not be held during Race Week.) 508-228-1400

Are you an avid sports fan? Do you wish there were more opportunities to read about sports in school? Heres your chance for middle school students to read about their favorite sports athletes/teams while practicing and strengthening reading comprehension and writing skills. This class will explore universal themes found in sports such as perseverance, determination, work ethic, understanding commitment, setting and achieving goals, and overcoming obstacles, through various sports literature including newspaper/magazine articles, biographies, excerpts from nonfiction books, and poetry.
