For 2-5 year olds, this weekly class combines creative movement with story time! Its a fun learning experience that builds language acquisition, developmental movement, conceptual understanding, personal expression, social skills, and creative problem solving. We will use our bodies with assistance from our expanding imaginations to move through stories to reinforce verbal literacy through the young childs strong kinesthetic intelligence. Adults are welcome to wait in a nearby classroom ( with wifi!) during the class, and will be invited in for a sharing day on the 4th and 7th class of each session. all prices include $10 registration fee Important Notice from UCAL: At the end of your registration process through the Active system, you will be offered a 30-day free trial of something called the Active Advantage program. Sports Mania - Summit Schools
If youre a sports fanatic, dont miss this camp! Spend the week learning about and participating in your favorite athletics. Work on sportsmanship and teamwork as we strengthen our gross and fine motor skills. *This class is designed to help with kindergarten readiness. These themed camps offer a fun, engaging learning environment as we work toward kindergarten readiness through different weekly topics. *3, 4, and 5 year olds are encouraged to join our morning preschool camps, where we work on a variety of social and academic skills. *Please note: Students who are registered for a morning and afternoon camp within the same week are invited to stay for FREE supervised lunch and recess between 11:30 am-12:30 pm. This camp is a creative combination of art and space. Campers will use visual arts to explore the final frontier! Two dimensional projects, such as drawing, painting, and collage, will focus on design elements such as color, line, and shape. Using clay, campers will take inspiration from textures and patterns found in space when they learn the basics of hand building techniques and out-of-this-world wheel throwing. Tuesday - Make Real Stuff! 3D Modeling - HoLa Lower School
Make real stuff - Think it and build it! TinkerCAD is an easy-to-learn cloud-based technology that lets you create 3D models to later 3D print or export to Minecraft. Students have fun while learning spatial thinking. The instructor Nicola Hoelz is a professional graphic artist and has studied 3D modeling and animation. The school will provide the laptops and internet access. At signup, please provide one parents email address for an account at Autodesk 123D. During the first one or two club meetings we will follow the online lessons, learning to navigate and create models.
