Campers will explore aerial robotics technology with fun and engaging educational scenarios and challenges. This camp offers aviation flight skills and interactive robotics training, and encourages camper interest in the career fields of Science, Math, and Engineering. Campers will build prototypes with the new technology and run test scenarios for safety, search, and rescue. Multiple teams of four will apply technology and planning to build a quad rotor designed for a specific first responder mission. Missions include: delivering pharmaceuticals to people in a disaster area, maneuvering the copter close to a (mock) hazardous waste container, and searching for a lost hiker. You are invited to the dedication of the new chapel at Youth Haven Bible Camp at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21! A reception with refreshments will follow the dedication service. As most of you know, the chapel honors the memory of Julia Brandenburg, daughter of KMM missionaries, Scott and Amy Brandenburg. Chapel services were Julia’s favorite activity at Youth Haven and while she was able to enjoy only one summer as a camper before her passing in 2012, countless children will continue to hear the gospel message in the new chapel in the years to come. Although there may be work yet to be done, the building will be dedicated for God’s use and glory on May 21. Children through young adults with HFA/Aspergers Syndrome have the opportunity to explore the art of improv, drama, and music with their peers. Drama Club is directed by a drama professional and music therapist who have extensive experience working with children and adults on the spectrum.This group provides participants with the opportunity to improve their communication skills within a small group or in front of a larger audience. Research has shown that children who participate in Drama/Acting activities improve their ability to react and respond to imaginary situations and feelings and eventually generalize these skills into their daily living.
