Got a kid who loves to move? This is the camp for you! Creative Movement is an exploratory camp that encourages students to be curious about all the wonderful ways their body can move. Each day of camp has a theme that dancers will explore through story, movement, music, props, crafts & games, allowing them to express themselves while learning movement vocabulary, strengthening coordination, gross and fine motor skills, and focus. Students will also learn choreography that will be performed at the end of the camp week for friends and family! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Instructor: Katrena Cohea has been dancing for over twenty years and teaching for over ten. She received her early training with Jeanie Pors at Benicia Ballet School, studying the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. The program has had consistent leadership for over 20 years- unsual for progams like this. Quality staff provide great role models. Both of my boys attended and had a wonderful time. In addition to the weekly themed activities, campers have daily exploration time in our museum. All full-day camps are available to children entering 1st-7th grade for the 2016-2017 school year. Food Cart Freewheelers will again bring campers around the city with one great ambition: to find the best lunch, while exploring the foodie side of Portland through its many food cart offerings. Campers ride to a different food cart pod everyday and learn to budget and plan their spending. Campers can look forward to broadening their understanding of cycling and cuisine, and experiencing the empowerment of earning a hot lunch with a week of riding. Skills they will develop: • Completing sharp turns • Riding down a hill fast while in total control of the bike • Understanding right of way • Navigating and riding in traffic: signaling or communicating with other road users, taking the lane, etc. • Troubleshooting problems and communicating effectively with a mechanic 503-288-8864 x321

Through an understanding of geometry, structures, aerodynamics, velocity, and more, girls will use multiple construction methods and materials to bring their projects to life!
